Rather than operator sending TA, why doesn't Airbus just revise the AMM Today the aim of the TAs is to alleviate the burden on operators but all deviations proposed today are a trade off between benefit and risk. So all deviations will not systematically be integrated in the Maintenance Manual. A reflection on these tasks will take place but will come on a second time. ATA29 deviations 2) Question from Syed Sarosh (QTR): The duration (sample taken date to lab result date) after the TA extended time will be mentioned in ISI or will be referred back from AMM? Answer: The additional time to receive the sampling results from the laboratory can be extended up to 1 month. This extended time will be provided in the TA case-by-case. 3) Question from Syed Sarosh (QTR): Why can't the ECAM hyd level checking be extended as well? if there is no abnormality in walk around (no leaks). Answer: The ECAM hydraulic level checking task is also performed to make sure the correct level of hydraulic fluid during parking procedures in aircraft ready for flight. Leaks may happen in hidden parts of aircraft and in a small quantities that could not be detected during walk around. 4) Question From Hailegebriel Getachew (ABY): The Hydraulic reservoir fluid level check as per the deviation (1 month), can we perform this check either on the reservoir indicators or from ECAM display unit? Answer: It depends on the aircraft program. The proposal of deviation is to change the interval of the current AMM task only. In the case of the A320 program where there are two AMM tasks mentioned in the Parking & Storage intervals, it is possible to perform one or other. 5) Question from Sanjiv Shastri (QFA): If the acidity level is high (Close to 1.5), then is the fluid likely to degrade during parking for A380? Customer Support Services Engineering Parking & Storage Webinar ATA 27, 29, 32, 52 Additional Sessions - Minute of Meeting Answer: Potentially not during parking period as the hydraulic system will be required frequently. Acidity will increase if the aircraft remains on ground without any hydraulic system operation. 6) Question from Nidhi Ann (GOW): For A/C that was under storage period , is it acceptable if analysis of hydraulic fluid be performed once within the 6 months period before RTS and that HYD. fluid analysis need not be performed again during the time of RTS? Answer: No. The sampling must be performed before aircraft return to service after storage period. The deviation covered by TA would be additional time to receive the sampling results from the lab or planning the sampling task up to 6 months before aircraft return to service (in this case no need to perform again at aircraft return to service date). 7) Question from Masato Hiramatsu (JAL): For A350, do you expect whether the hydraulic reservoir fluid level check and hydraulic fluid analysis can be extended the same as A320, A330 and A340? Answer: Yes. It is expected for A350 and A380. This information will be available in the ISI 29.00.00213. 8) Question from China Southern: What is the additional time for lab sampling test? Answer: Please refer to answer 3). 9) Question from Hamid Al Barwani (OMA): I don’t have the AMM readily available with me, but please advise how many days before RTS this Fluids Quality check Task is required Answer: The hydraulic fluid sampling task is required during the one of the following tasks: ❏ A320 - AMM task 10-30-00-554-805-A Return to Operation After a Storage Period ❏ A330/340 - TASK 10-30-00-554-804-A Return to Operation After a Storage Period ❏ A350 - MP TASK A350-A-10-4X-XX-03001-282A-A Return to Operation After a Parking Period ❏ A380 - AMM TASK 10-30-00-554-801-A Return to Operation After a Parking Period 10) Question from Peter Baak: THA has already TA to postpone all 7d checks at intervals of 15days for A320/330/350/380. Why do you still talk about 7 days check in this presentation? Customer Support Services Engineering Parking & Storage Webinar ATA 27, 29, 32, 52 Additional Sessions - Minute of Meeting Answer: The intention of the presentation is to show the current AMM intervals and what would be deviated by dedicated TA from chapter 29, as mentioned in the introduction of Webinar. ATA27 deviations 11) Question from Anwar Biland (OMA): Please can we see ISI references on ATA 27. Will Airbus share this presentation with operators at the end of webex? Answer: Yes, the presentation will be shared. 12) Question from Dave Martin (CPA): Airbus allows operators to take credit from MPD for certain ATA27 tasks, however such deviation is only for RTS, why is the same arrangement not applicable to initial storage procedure? Answer: The analysis has been done with our specialists for all the tasks at the entry into storage and only the one linked to flap rotary actuators can be deferred based on MPD interval. For the other, they are necessary to ensure a good preservation of the aircraft during the storage period. 13) Question from Noriel Purigay (PAL): Referenced to OIT 999.0019/20 R02 Appendix 3, flight controls lubrication has to be done at 3-month ground check. Is it possible to defer (and to be performed after utility flight to home base), lubrication items 3.1, 3.2, and 3.3 of OIT appendix 3, for aircraft which are currently away from base? These tasks are being performed accordingly per MPD prior going into parking. Answer: We are currently investigating if some deviations can be acceptable based on the MPD. We will keep you informed. 14) Question from Eliot DeRego (HAL): Are there any specific requirements for the Non - Revenue Flight? Answer: You will find all the specific requirements in OIT 999.0019_20 P&S Recommendations Apx 3. (Tasks applicable to LR) If you need more information for other Airbus Family Aircraft please contact SEMA. Customer Support Services Engineering Parking & Storage Webinar ATA 27, 29, 32, 52 Additional Sessions - Minute of Meeting Post note meeting: OIT 999.0019_20 will be revised to include the requirements for the other programs. 15) Question from BURAK ÇOBAN (THY): Please could you clarify if we can take a TA for all the fleet or should we take each aircraft one by one? Answer: Yes, we can provide you with 1 TA per A/C program (typically 1 for your A320 fleet and 1 for your A330 fleet for example) 16) Question from Anwar Biland (OMA): For 6 month non revenue flight, OIT 999.0019/20 item 3.5.1 recommends to clean and protect cables for mechanical commands only? Please can you clarify. Answer: This action is applicable to A320FAM and A330/A340FAM only. This task is not mandatory. The content of the task is to perform the same operations as the one to be done at the return to operation after storage period. 17) Question from Donald Ip (CPA): From the presentation, it is important to have a flight control lub after 3mo if we hope to deviate from the 3mo NRF requirement for parked a/c. Meanwhile, Airbus allows operators to take credit from MPD for stored a/c (e.g. for A330 some MPD interval up to 60mo). Why can't we take credit for the 3mo parked aircraft as well? Answer: Today there is no lubrication performed even in case of long parking period up to 1 month. Lubrication is very important to keep component performances due to the specific characteristics of different fluids or grease for instance. However we take the point to review with our specialist if some deviation can be proposed in this case. 18) Question from Hailegebriel Getachew (ABY): There is MPD task 275446-02-1 for A320 to perform DETAILED INSPECTION OF FLAP TRACKS, ROLLERS AND SPHERICAL BEARINGS every 80 MO OR 24000 FH. Can Airbus investigate to take credit from MPD task 275446-02-1 for storage requirement task “check of all the flap tracks for corrosion” ? Answer: A detailed inspection of the flap and slat assembly system is necessary during the return to operation after a storage period. At the return into operation, this task is not necessary to be performed if the last inspection as per the mentioned MPD has been performed in the last 6 months. Customer Support Services Engineering Parking & Storage Webinar ATA 27, 29, 32, 52 Additional Sessions - Minute of Meeting Regarding the check of the flap tracks for corrosion, this check is requested today every 3 months. A TA can be proposed to extend up to 6 months. However, this inspection is required to ensure there are no corrosion on ground during storage (due to humidity, water, contamination…) and have to be performed every 6 months. 19) Question from Dave Martin (CPA): A Non Revenue Flight (NRF) is required at RTS for aircraft under Parking at 3-months threshold and beyond per OIT 999 0019 Rev 2. What is the technical rationale for this NRF as it is not required for aircraft under Storage (until 2 years) ? Answer: There is a difference in philosophy between Parking where the aircraft remains in “flight ready condition” and Storage where more work will be required to put the aircraft back into service. This is why Parking requires regular NRF whereas Storage only requires them at a larger interval. 20) Question from Anwar Biland (OMA): Where can we find additional ATA 27 tasks required to be done to extend PARKING non revenue flight from 3 months to 4 months? Do we have to raise a TA for this? Answer: The question of the NRF postponement is more general and not only linked to ATA27 requirements. We propose to directly contact SEM departement ATA52 deviations 21) Question from Hailegebriel Getachew (ABY): Would like to ask if either Deviation # 1 or Deviation # 2 is required as an acceptable deviation? Answer: Deviation #1 allows full doors’ protection to be applied at the end of the parking period (before Return to Operations) rather than immediately (on the day of the last flight or on the next day) or during the parking period. Deviation #2 allows partial doors’ protection by applying lubricant only on door mechanisms that are easily accessible (seal being considered as easily accessible), which can also be applied at the end of the parking period or before second non revenue flight whichever comes first. 22) Question from Yoonchan Hwang (KAL): Will the deviation #1 and #2 be also applied to storage procedure? Answer: Deviations #1 & #2 also apply for storage procedure, knowing that storage procedure also requires to open and close all the access doors to the pressurized area to make sure that they operate correctly and to Apply Dry lubricant-Anti Seizing PTFE Loaded - (Material Ref. 03QDB1) on all the seals of the doors once a month (except for A350), which can also be deviated from. Customer Support Services Engineering Parking & Storage Webinar ATA 27, 29, 32, 52 Additional Sessions - Minute of Meeting ATA32 (Landing Gear) deviations 23) Question from Anwar Biland (OMA): Can we extend the 3 month non-revenue flight to 4 months without any additional checks for ATA 32 tasks only, or does this apply to all other ATAs as well? Please clarify Answer: This is only applicable to ATA32 perimeter. Additional maintenance task may be required for other ATA chapters (ATA 27 for instance). 24) Question from Hailegebriel Getachew (ABY): Appendix 3 of OIT ref: 999.0019/20 Rev 02 mentioned additional maintenance tasks for ATA 32 that are required to park A/C up to 6 months without NRF. Can you confirm that the deviation as per Appendix 3 of OIT ref: 999.0019/20 will not impacting ATA 32 in relation to parking/storage requirement? Answer: Deviation as per Appendix 3 of OIT will require Extension & Retraction tests (normal & emergency) prior next flight for aircraft parked up to 6 months without NRF. From ATA32 perspective, it is acceptable to not perform Extension & Retraction tests for parking up to 4 months (refer to ISI 32.00.00178 for details). 25) Question from Noriel PURIGAY (PAL): Referenced to OIT 999.0019/20 R02 Appendix 3, normal and free-fall extension/retraction test has to be performed during RTO. For aircraft under parking away from base, what are the additional requirements if these will be done during ferry flight? Are these requirements the same as discussed with storage? Answer: If Aircraft if parked for more than 4 months without performing the non revenue flight, the extension & retraction test should be performed under one of the 3 options: -At aircraft location -After repositioning the aircraft with landing gear down and locked -During a maintenance check flight. 26) Question from Dave Martin (CPA): A Non Revenue Flight (NRF) is required at RTS for aircraft under Parking at 3-month threshold and beyond per OIT 999 0019 Rev 2. What is the technical rationale for this NRF as it is not required for aircraft under Storage (until 2 years) Answer: Customer Support Services Engineering Parking & Storage Webinar ATA 27, 29, 32, 52 Additional Sessions - Minute of Meeting Objective of the non revenue flight during Parking period is to reset the clock in order to keep aircraft in flight ready condition. Extension & retraction tests are required during storage periodically (6 months) and prior return to service in order to ensure airworthy condition of the aircraft for return to operation. Extension & retraction test required. Indeed, in stationary condition, increase of friction at pintle pins area and all Landing Gear kinematic joints may occur and lubrication on this condition is less efficient than lubrication on jacks. 27) Question from Haixin Song / Samuel (CHH): Is non-revenue flight every 3 months to every 4 months only used in COVID 19? Answer: Alleviation proposed are only valid during the Covid-19 crisis. Indeed, as explained these alleviation may introduce additional risk leading to extra maintenance before RTS. Thus, AMM update is not expected. However, pending return of in-service experience of these alleviations, AMM update analysis may be reviewed. 28) Question from Sanjiv Shastri (QFA): Are these deviations allowed for high fuel loads (example 110 Tons) required for stability? Answer: We confirm that parking alleviations are still applicable even with aircraft in heavy condition due to high fuel loads. 29) Question from Nidhi Ann (GOW): For all applicable ATA's related to parking which needs to be reset at 3 MO interval through NRF; Is Airbus considering to provide extension of the Non-Revenue flight (from 3 MO to a longer duration) so that the A/C can continue to remaining under parking - in flight ready condition without performing the NRF at 3 MO period? Answer: From a landing gear perspective, the NRF must be performed at 4 months to remain in flight ready condition. Above 4 months, extension & retraction tests of the landing gears will be required. 30) Question from Ma Guodong (CSN): Why not change the 15 days inspection interval of parking & storage to 14 days? If changed to 14days, it can be completed with the second 7 days interval inspection. Answer Because you have to perform different periodic ground checks on 7 days and 15 days basis Customer Support Services Engineering Parking & Storage Webinar ATA 27, 29, 32, 52 Additional Sessions - Minute of Meeting For a case with inspection needed at p7d and p15d, you have to perform the 7-day check at the first 7 days, then perform the second 7-day check at the 14th days, then 15-day check at the 15th days, and then 7-day check at the 21th days, and then 7-day check at the 28th days. Airbus would like to inform you that p1m can be understand as 30 or 31 days. Indeed, if you performed a task the 7 July, you have to apply the next task p1m one month later, so the 7 August. As an alternative, you can also combine several periodic checks on the same days: -First week (day 7): tasks with 7 days intervals -Second week (day 14): tasks with 7 days intervals + tasks with 15 days intervals -Third week (day 21): tasks with 7 days intervals -Fourth week (day 28): tasks with 7 days intervals + tasks with 15 days intervals + tasks with 1 month intervals. ATA32 (Braking & Steering) deviations 31) Question from RICO CEN (HKE): AMM SUBTASK 10-10-00-620-052-A Para D (1) Apply Corrosion Preventive Compound-Water Displacing Oily Film System (Material Ref. 12ABE2) on the LG cases, brackets, screws and bolts. Above subtask can be applied to cases, brackets, screws and bolts on Wheels and Brakes? If above subtask is not applicable to wheels or brakes, could Airbus provide Wheels and Brakes corrosion prevention procedure or recommendation during Parking Procedure? Answer: We have to take this question with us, as you know friction in wheels & brakes are very important so the materials to be applied in these areas have to be checked. 32) Question from Ekta Jakhar (QTR): Storage procedure of A330 & A380 requires to check brakes and wheel half for corrosion. Please confirm if wheel removal is required for this inspection? Answer: The wheel can remain installed for the inspection to be performed. Please note that in case of finding the wheels might have to be removed and replaced. 33) Question from Sanjiv Shastri (QFA): Can Airbus confirm if brake pressure will gradually drop over a period of time? Answer: Customer Support Services Engineering Parking & Storage Webinar ATA 27, 29, 32, 52 Additional Sessions - Minute of Meeting As all hydro-mechanical systems the parking brake circuit is subjected to internal leaks. Therefore yes, the park brake pressure will drop over a period of time. This is why the installation of shocks is required. 34) Question from Noriel Purigay (PAL): /1/ For storage conditions, what is the shop requirement for the removed wheels? Is it only for the bearing inspection similar to OIT appendix 3 for parked aircraft? If yes, can bearing inspection be performed on line as per referenced ISI? /2/ Most of the wheels and brakes periodic tasks can be deferred and covered by TA. Can Airbus just update the AMM to cover these deviations since these are generic for all configurations and programs? ALL PAL aircraft are equipped with radial tires. Answer: Yes the requirement to remove the wheels after a storage period exceeding 12 weeks is mainly driven by the bearings (except of course in the case of a removal due to findings during other inspections on aircraft). We are currently developing a procedure to inspect the bearings by (at the side of) the aircraft instead of in shop. This is referred to as stage 2 in ISI 32.41.00102, this article will be updated once the procedure is finalized. The deviations provided are a trade off between benefit and risks. Today AMM tasks aim to take no risk, therefore all deviations presented will not systematically be introduced in the AMM. Post meeting note: ISI 32.41.00102 was released and the TA for the procedure to inspect wheel bearings by the aircraft can be requested 35) Question from Sanjiv Shastri (QFA): AMM requires chocks not to be placed hard up against the wheels. However if parking brake pressure drops, then it may be better to place chocks hard up against the wheels rather than aircraft rolling. Answer: The requirement not to place the chocks hard up against the wheels is to avoid the wheels to roll onto the chocks and prevent them from being removed easily. Deviating from this would increase the risk of finding a choke stuck below a wheel. 36) Question from Noriel Purigay (PAL): Can Airbus just revert to the original AMM after Covid-19 situations, just to limit multiple TAs? Answer: Current AMM tasks remain valid all along the covid 19 situation. The proposed Technical Adaptation can be requested & used by customers who want to reduce their maintenance burden. Customer Support Services Engineering Parking & Storage Webinar ATA 27, 29, 32, 52 Additional Sessions - Minute of Meeting 37) Question from Sanjiv Shastri (QFA): Is Airbus reviewing brake wear pin inspection intervals? Answer: No as deviation was requested on this topic yet. 38) Question from Antoine BODIN (SIA A380 TSP): What is the commercial policy for these TAs? Answer: This webinar is focussed on the technical aspect only, for commercial questions please contact your Customer Support Director. Conclusion 39) Question from CSNCAN (ACOSCR): Will Airbus collect all the deviation TA info into a dashboard list and send to all operators? Answer: It’s not expected. Customer should collect and store all documentation provided. 40) Question from Mohnish Varma (QTR): Would you be able to share the webinar as PPT with the participants? Answer: The slides and minute of Meeting will be provided in PDF format only “Afternoon Session” Introduction ATA29 deviations 1) Question from Martin Downey (VIR): The OIT 999.0019/20 Rev 2 appendix refers to a test of fluid extending the renewal flight beyond 3 months. Why is this? Standard MPD interval is 36MO Answer: The Appendix 3 of OIT 999.0019/20 Rev2, item 3.5 refers to tasks recommended to be performed to improve the reliability of the aircraft at the return to service. Customer Support Services Engineering Parking & Storage Webinar ATA 27, 29, 32, 52 Additional Sessions - Minute of Meeting The interval of 6 months without renewal flight may increase the hydraulic fluid acidity as there is not too much operation of the hydraulic system during the time. This was the reason for recommended hydraulic fluid analyses in the appendix 3. 2) Question from Carlos Marjaliza (IBE): Is this presentation going to be sent? Answer: Yes, all presentations will be sent. 3) Question from Jocelyn Louis (AFR): Hyd fluid analysis is to be performed, but can we fly the aircraft while waiting for the results? Answer: Yes, as per AMM hydraulic fluid sampling. 4) Question from Geovanny Pellaton (AVA): Is the TA related to ATA 29 FOC? Answer: This webinar is focussed on the technical aspect only, for commercial questions please contact your Customer Support Director. 5) Question from Osvaldinho (AZU): Why do we need to submit a TA request ? Why doesn't Airbus issue world wide instructions to cover deviations already approved ? Answer: The technical content associated with each deviation is in the ISI articles and OIT. However these documents are informational only and do not constitute Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA), the TA is ICA. This is why a TA request has to be submitted. 6) Question from Burak Coban (THY): Are there any risks of these deviations? Answer: The risks were presented during the Webinar. WIth regard ATA 29 Hydraulic System, the risk would be reservoir level not correct, which will demand an investigation and additional tasks. 7) Question from Martin Downey (VIR): (in general) Why is the AMM not being revised to include all of these changes? The processing of TAs (at VIR we have 11 TAs so far) is very intensive in terms of CAMO/Internal Tech pubs updates. Boeing has incorporated their alleviations into AMM TRs Answer: Customer Support Services Engineering Parking & Storage Webinar ATA 27, 29, 32, 52 Additional Sessions - Minute of Meeting We will not comment on how competition decided to proceed. Today the aim of these TAs is to alleviate the burden on operators but all deviations proposed today are a trade off between benefit and risk. So all deviations will not systematically be integrated in the Maintenance Manual. A reflection on these tasks will take place but will come on a second time. 8) Question from Jocelyn Louis (AFR): Is it possible to have a list of TA available per aircraft type ? Answer: There is no list of TA available however the deviations possible are presented in the ISIs (see references summarized at the end of the presentation) 9) Question from Osvaldinho (AZU): Based on your answer we assume on TA, we assume Airbus has internal bureaucracy issues that avoids issues of world wide TA. Just to be clear with you, this approach brings additional and unnecessary burden to airlines. We need a different approach. Answer: We are studying the feasibility of a different approach 10) Question from Angela Botero (AVA): Once an operator receives the TA, is it possible that some tasks have not been included in the ISI but upon receiving the TA there are additional tasks? Answer: No, for chapter 29, it would be required additional tasks in case of finds found during the procedure. 11) Question from Ryan James Manuel (PAL): In case of emergency evacuation of parked aircraft due to Typhoon or Cyclone, can Airbus provide a minimum Return-to-Operation requirement? Just for evacuation and relocation of the aircraft. Answer: This should be requested on Tech Request in order to launch a study. 12) Question from Osvaldinho (AZU): Gentlemen we are facing unprecedented world class business collapse, I insist you should reconsider issuing worldwide TAs, at least during the crisis period. Answer: We will consider your request. Customer Support Services Engineering Parking & Storage Webinar ATA 27, 29, 32, 52 Additional Sessions - Minute of Meeting 13) Question from Martin Downey (VIR): (for Airbus awareness) Every word within the ICAs (AMM) that we deviate has to be documented in a Justification Document (even if covered by TA). This is to provide clear traceability. In the case of the VIR fleet, this document is continuously evolving, a Answer: It ‘s well known and it depends case by case on the NAA. 14) Question from Carlos (IBE): Carlos (IBE) As the rest of OpCo, I also want to highlight that the TA procedure is not clear enough and quite difficult to be managed by any CAMO. Please take the action to re consider the approach Answer: We will consider your request. ATA27 deviations 15) Question from Jinesh Sodha (EZY): Has climate effect been considered to justify the extension of 3 months to 6 months for inspection of flt control cable? Answer: Climate effect can have an impact on the flight control cable. Postponement of this task is possible as protection and cleaning is already performed at the entry into storage and every 6 months 16) Question from Martin DOWNEY (VIR) With respect to the flap rotary actuators, the moisture accumulation into the semi-fluid is a function of pressure cycling/water impingement. Why is it not sufficient to stick to MPD interval? Answer: We confirm that such task performed at the entry into storage and at the return into operation is not necessary if MPD interval is properly respected 17) Question from Martin DOWNEY (VIR) OIT 999.0019/20 includes a requirement to lube bearings at 3 months. The MPD interval is 18MO/7500FH. The AMPES for 'stop the clock' extends this by another 6 months. Rudder bearing lube outside is very difficult. Lithium complex grease is very stable. The lubrication for RTS after 3 months makes no sense, without extending the parking renewal flight, there is no requirement unless the MPD task (as varied by the AMPES) is due. Answer: A Tech Request is currently open on the subject with VIR. Analysis is under progress with our specialist. We will answer through the dedicated Tech Request 18) Question from Jocelyn LOUIS (AFR): Customer Support Services Engineering Parking & Storage Webinar ATA 27, 29, 32, 52 Additional Sessions - Minute of Meeting Study is running to postpone NRF from 3M to 6M, when Airbus intends to deliver the results to operators ? Answer: Already provided for SA, LR and DD. XWB should be finalized within the end of this week. 19) Question from Osvaldo Da Silva Junior (AZU) General question, please clarify if all deviations presented during Webex related to TA requests are subjected to direct payment, or it will be provided free of charge ?? Answer: This webinar is focussed on the technical aspect only, for commercial questions please contact your Customer Support Director. 20) Question from Simon Deligny (AFR): Regarding extension of NRF from 3 to 6 months, can you please confirm that if compensatory tasks are performed and that the A/C is put back to ops between 3 and 6 months, no NRF is necessary ? Answer: The question of the NRF is more general and not only linked to ATA27 requirements. We propose to directly contact SEM departement 21) Question from Martin Downey (VIR): If you stick to the current 3 months renewal flight interval, there is no need to do the lube - it is not specified, you can go on indefinitely with 3 month renewals with only lubrication due if required per MPD task. If you go beyond 3 months parking renewal (e.g. to 4 months), you have to do the lube every 3 months. My background is lubrication and tribology... Answer: A Tech Request is currently open on the subject. Analysis is under progress with our specialist. We will answer through the dedicated Tech Request 22) Question from Jocelyn LOUIS (AFR): ATA chapter 27 is the main driver to maintain NRF at 3 M ? I'm I correct ? Answer: ATA 29 and 32 are also involved. 23) Question from Jocelyn LOUIS (AFR): NRF has been postponed to 6 M, but to be performed necessarily at RTS, Why? It doesn't make sense for operator, the TA request additional inspection at 4 M but still require to perform the NRF - Can you explain where is the added value? As the advantage of the TA extension of the 3 M NRF is cancelled , please review urgently the philosophy? Answer: Customer Support Services Engineering Parking & Storage Webinar ATA 27, 29, 32, 52 Additional Sessions - Minute of Meeting The added value is to keep the AC in flight ready condition up to 6 months. Without the TA you have to perform NRF every 3 months. The definition of Parking in Flight Ready condition is valid up to 3 months. For a longer period you should consider Storage. With this TA you have two options : 1) perform NRF at 4 months; 2) perform NRF at 6 months; Customer can consider the opportunity to switch to storage before 3 months in order to skip NRF and Landing Gear REFF and Freefall. 24) Question from Kevin McLean (EZY) Not specific to this ATA, would airbus be able to look at the requirement which requires an operator to fly an aircraft within 24hrs of taking out park could this be extended to 48hrs? Answer: Airbus is studying the feasibility. ATA52 deviations Customer Support Services Engineering Parking & Storage Webinar ATA 27, 29, 32, 52 Additional Sessions - Minute of Meeting 25) Question from Martin DOWNEY (VIR) The lubricant for the door seals appears to be a graphite powder rather than PTFE loaded dry lubricant. Is this the correct CML reference? Answer: Yes the CML reference is correct. ATA32 (Landing Gear) deviations 26) Question from geovanny pellaton (AVA): Airline with already TA to extend their short not revenue flight to 4 months has eventually only reached the 3.5 month and aircraft is ready to operate. Could AIB confirm at case 3.5 Mo, Airline should perform Non-Revenue Flight or could be Revenue flight? Answer: This is only applicable to the ATA32 perimeter. Additional maintenance tasks may be required for other ATA chapters (ATA 27 for instance). 27) Question from Martin Downey (VIR): Can the parking renewal flight be done gear-down, and back into parking, then at end of parking ferry perform a further gear-down flight to maintenance facility where REFF test can be done. Answer: If during NRF of the parking renewal, Landing Gears are not retracted/extended, REFF test will be mandatory prior to return to service if parking is above 4 months. In such a configuration, repositioning flight with Gear down may be proposed through TA to reach maintenance facility where REFF test shall be done. 28) Question from Tanya BENGE (BAWLHR): For the A350, the pressure check / H measurement seem to be in a vicious circle. MP Task A350-A-32-11-XX-01001-340A-A (Functional Check of MLG Shock-Strut Nitrogen Charge-Pressure) just sends straight to: MP Task for MLG Minimum 'H' Dimension Check. It is the same for the NLG tasks. Will these tasks be amended in the future? Answer: These tasks will not be amended. It is specific to the A350 program. 29) Question from Angela Botero (AVA): Once an operator receives the TA, is it possible that some tasks have not been included in the ISI but upon receiving the TA there are additional tasks? Answer: Customer Support Services Engineering Parking & Storage Webinar ATA 27, 29, 32, 52 Additional Sessions - Minute of Meeting TA raised will be aligned with the ISI content at the time of TA issuance. ISI may evolve as there is some analysis on-going. Thus, in such a case, TA could not cover new possible deviations presented by ISI if allowed & justified after TA issuance. 30) Question from Leandro Dottori (ARG): Considering that TA to extend the Parking renewal to 6MO is applied and requested additional tasks are performed, for ATA 32 perspective, Is the NRF required for RTS after 4MO ? Answer: If Parking is above 4 months without performing NRF, Aircraft is not in flight ready condition from a Landing Gear perspective. Return into operation must be performed as per Storage AMM task for ATA 32 aspects which will require to perform REFF tests. For ATA 32 perspective, NRF is not required for RTS whereas REFF tests are required. 31) Question from Jefferson MALVEIRA (SCY): On A350, by any chance, Is there any possibility to postpone the extension and retraction after 4MO as mentioned during the presentation? Answer: For all programs including A350F, REFF tests must be performed prior to return to service if Parking is above 4 months without performing NRF. REFF test can be postponed to return to operation maintenance activity through TA. 32) Question from FREY PARRA (AVA): For airplanes in remote base in storage more than 4 months the extension and retraction is not possible then only the repositioning flight enough ? Answer: Repositioning flight with gear down may be proposed through TA to reach maintenance facility where REFF test shall be done. If the storage is less than 12 months, an alternative solution may be to perform the check of the extension and retraction system during a Maintenance Check flight (Solution under investigation). ATA32 (Braking & Steering) deviations 33) Question from Jefferson Malveira (SCY): Our customer is facing brake corrosion during the parking period in their entire fleet. Would Airbus intend to update any information or recommendation to deal with this issue through OIT? Thanks Answer: No OIT is contemplated at this stage. However we are reviewing the topic with our suppliers. Customer Support Services Engineering Parking & Storage Webinar ATA 27, 29, 32, 52 Additional Sessions - Minute of Meeting In the meantime, we would be very interested in collecting operator feedback on the case of corrosion found on aircraft (refer to ISI 32.40.00066) 34) Question Martin Downey (VIR): Tyre Rotation: the TA received by VIR stated 1.25 turns, not 10.25 turns. If the aircraft is moved for engine runs, we assume that it is not necessary to check that the tyre is not on the same spot. Answer: Yes the first TA stated 1.25 turns, 9 extra turns can be added to reduce the risk of non detection of bearing defect during the test. Tire orientation is not correlated to engine run so it is not necessary to check if they are in the same sport. 35) Question Karson Wong (UAL): Is Airbus looking at any mitigation ideas that will provide relief to operators from wheel replacements? There will be a risk of straining the supply chain for wheel replacements. Answer: Yes this is described in ISI 32.41.00102 36) Question from Germi Mattei (EZY): Is there any maintenance that can be done on wheels to avoid the removals such as bearings greasing? Answer: Yes this is described in ISI 32.41.00102 37) Question from Osvaldo Da Silva Junior (AZU): We have other OEM with same wheel supplier (Safran) that allowed on wing bearing removal for inspection and lubrication, avoiding entire wheel removal. Can we move same direction with Airbus ? Answer: We do not comment on our competitor maintenance policy. Note that solutions to avoid wheel replacement are under review (see ISI 32.41.00102) 38) Question Martin Downey (VIR): There are huge logistical problems with removing wheels for workshop check. Boeing have an AMM procedure to inspect the wheels/inspect and repack the bearings with grease. Please can this be added to the AMM? If Airbus does not publish the procedure, then EVERY OPERATOR has to publish the procedure. I cannot emphasise the additional burden for operators compared to you know who. Customer Support Services Engineering Parking & Storage Webinar ATA 27, 29, 32, 52 Additional Sessions - Minute of Meeting Answer: We do not comment on our competitor maintenance policy. At this stage we intend to deliver the procedures provided in ISI 32.41.00102 via Technical Adaptation. Introduction of such tasks in AMM will not be systematic and be reviewed in a second stage. 39) Question from Germi Mattei (EZY): Has corrosion on the brakes been noticed on particular brake types (OEM) or is among all of them? Answer: At this stage we have only few feedback from operators so a limited view on the P/N affected by corrosion. We welcome any feedback as per ISI ISI 32.40.00066. 40) Question from Jaime Camargo (AIJ): Hello, about brake fan, in the period of storage requires with AMM task TASK 32-48-51-000-005-A remove the brake fan, the question is: Is it necessary remove the brake fan? is it possible skip this step with a TA? Answer: Yes see presentation (B.2.4) 41) Question Martin Downey (VIR): We are getting great support from Airbus and it is very much appreciated. The ISIs are very useful, but they require a TA to be applied on the fleet. While Airbus has been very responsive, the burden of rewriting and approving the changes to the AMM is relentless and it is a full time job to keep track of the changes. Answer: At this stage it is not contemplated to systematically include all deviations presented today in the AMM. 42) Question Ricardo CORREIA (LTM): A320 - Corrosion on brakes in the couplings : How can I clean this corrosion or I must replace? Answer: At this stage there is no allowable for corrosion in AMM documentation and cleaning procedures do not exist for all the parts. We are reviewing this topic with our Design Office and suppliers.
