Learning outcomes
At the end of this course, students are able to:
1. determine audiences and purposes for written
documents
2. write appropriate messages for brief correspondence
3. prepare a formal problem-solution report
Course synopsis
This course will introduce students to effective
technical writing skills. Using materials related to the
workplace, students will be taught in stages to write a
variety of technical documents.
Continuous assessments
• Week 9: Test (Individual, 40%)
• Week 10: Informal Report(Group , 20%)
• Week 14: Submission of Proposal (Group, 40%)
Warmer
• In 30 minutes, write a formal complaint letter about a
product or service you are not happy about, using the
format and style you think are appropriate.
• Send it to your class teacher; you will edit it in Week
6.
