How to take Amoxicillin Capsules
Always take Amoxicillin Capsules exactly as directed by your doctor or pharmacist, spacing
doses evenly at least 4 hours apart and swallowing them whole with water.
Dosages vary based on age, weight, and condition severity—children under 40 kg receive 40–90
mg/kg/day, while adults and children over 40 kg typically take 250–500 mg three times daily or up to
1 g twice daily, with higher doses for severe infections.
For specific conditions like urinary tract infections, Lyme disease, or stomach ulcers, your doctor will
adjust the dose accordingly. If you have kidney problems, your dose may be reduced.
Do not double up on missed doses, and complete the full course even if you feel better. Overuse
may lead to side effects like thrush or require monitoring of kidney, liver, and blood function. If you
take too much, consult a doctor immediately.
