Adhesion test Kobaflow U85 & U80 - Jan de Nul
90° Adhesion test
An adhesion test was performed on both the U85 and U80 plates. The height of the PU block
was reduced to 4 mm and a strip 20 mm wide was cut to perform the adhesion test. The first
part of the PU was cut loose from the steel so that it could be fixed in the tensile testing
machine.
Kobaflow U85
The adhesion test of Kobaflow U85 showed that the PU adhered to the steel till 23,88 N/mm
at that point the PU breaks. This means that the adhesion of the PU on steel is higher than
23,88 N/mm, which is above de tensile strength of the PU. The exact value of adhesion cannot
be determined. The adhesion is thus excellent.

Kobaflow U80
The adhesion test of Kobaflow U80 showed that the PU adhered to the steel till 18,40 N/mm
at that point the PU breaks. This means that the adhesion of the PU on steel is higher than
18,40 N/mm (which is excellent), which is above de tensile strength of the PU. The exact value
of adhesion cannot be determined.
