VIR Charts - Ohm’s Law Worksheets
Questions
1. A current of 2 A flows through a resistor with a resistance of 6 Ω. What is the voltage
across the resistor?
VIR Chart: V = ?, I = 2 A, R = 6 Ω
2. A bulb has a resistance of 10 Ω and the voltage across it is 5 V. What is the current
through the bulb?
VIR Chart: V = 5 V, I = ?, R = 10 Ω
3. A voltage of 9 V is applied to a circuit and a current of 3 A flows. What is the resistance?
VIR Chart: V = 9 V, I = 3 A, R = ?
Solutions
1. A current of 2 A flows through a resistor with a resistance of 6 Ω. What is the voltage
across the resistor?
Solution: V = I × R = 2 A × 6 Ω = 12 V
2. A bulb has a resistance of 10 Ω and the voltage across it is 5 V. What is the current
through the bulb?
Solution: I = V / R = 5 V / 10 Ω = 0.5 A
3. A voltage of 9 V is applied to a circuit and a current of 3 A flows. What is the resistance?
Solution: R = V / I = 9 V / 3 A = 3 Ω
