MONTHLY WOPIC MEETINGS ATTENDED
In 2024, Saint Barbara Chapel maintained its active participation in the monthly WOPIC
Diocese meetings. These meetings were designed to strengthen collaboration among chapels
within the diocese by sharing knowledge, discussing best practices, and addressing challenges.
Each meeting was an opportunity for us to represent our chapel’s concerns and contributions while
learning from the programs and experiences of other communities.
By attending these gatherings, we ensured that our chapel aligned with the diocesan vision
and mission. Topics covered included worship enhancement, community outreach strategies,
pastoral care initiatives, infrastructure development, and strategies to build a strong faith-based
community.
Impact:
Improved coordination with the diocese, resulting in better program implementation.
Strengthened relationships with other chapels, fostering a spirit of unity and shared
purpose.
Provided a platform for addressing challenges specific to Saint Barbara Chapel and
receiving guidance from Diocesan leaders.
CHAPEL MONTHLY MEETINGS
Saint Barbara Chapel organized and held monthly meetings for chapel officers, members,
and volunteers. These meetings played a vital role in ensuring smooth coordination and
communication among the leadership and congregation. Each session began with a prayer,
followed by updates on completed activities, plans for upcoming programs, and an open forum for
suggestions and concerns.
These meetings encouraged a spirit of transparency and unity. They provided a platform
for discussing priorities, such as improving chapel facilities, increasing participation in services,
and addressing pastoral and community needs.
Impact:
Improved Transparency: Members were informed about the financial status and progress
of ongoing projects.
Fostered Engagement: Active participation from members led to innovative ideas and
solutions.
Strengthened Unity: Open communication nurtured trust and collaboration within the
community.
Highlights:
Discussed and approved the acquisition of the water tank and kneeler.
Strategized activities like environmental planting and membership growth initiatives.
PLANTED VARIOUS FLOWERING PLANTS AND VEGETABLES
As part of our environmental and beautification efforts, Saint Barbara Chapel initiated a
community planting project. Members gathered to plant flowering plants and vegetables in
designated areas around the chapel premises. This activity was carried out not only to beautify the
surroundings but also to promote environmental awareness and sustainability within the
community.
A variety of plants, including colorful flowers and locally grown vegetables, were chosen
to create a balance of beauty and functionality. The involvement of community members, from
children to seniors, made this initiative a meaningful bonding experience.
Impact:
Beautified the Chapel Grounds: The planted flowers have significantly enhanced the
visual appeal of the chapel.
Promoted Sustainability: Vegetables grown in the area are shared among members or
used during chapel activities.
Fostered Community Spirit: The activity encouraged teamwork and a shared sense of
responsibility for the environment.
Highlights:
Organized a follow-up care schedule for maintaining the plants.
Engaged 20+ volunteers in the planting activity.
PROCURED NEW KNEELER AND WARDROBE CABINET FOR SAINT’S
VESTMENTS
In 2024, the chapel took significant steps to improve its infrastructure by purchasing a new
kneeler for worship and a cabinet for the vestments of our patron saint. These items were selected
and acquired with the aim of enhancing both functionality and the dignity of our sacred space.
The kneeler has provided congregants with a comfortable and reverent way to pray during
services, while the wardrobe cabinet ensures the proper storage of the saint's vestments, keeping
them in pristine condition. This improvement reflects the community’s dedication to maintaining
the sanctity and aesthetic appeal of our chapel.
Impact:
Enhanced Worship Experience: The new kneeler has improved the spiritual and physical
comfort of worshippers.
Organized Sacred Items: The cabinet ensures that the saint's vestments are protected and
accessible for use during celebrations.
Elevated the Chapel’s Aesthetic: The new additions contribute to the overall beauty and
functionality of the chapel.
Highlights:
The kneeler and cabinet were funded through a mix of donations and chapel resources.
These items were blessed during a special ceremony to mark their dedication.
ACQUISITION OF A WATER TANK
Recognizing the need for a stable water supply, Saint Barbara Chapel successfully
purchased a set of water tanks this year. This essential addition addresses long-standing logistical
challenges, ensuring water availability for cleaning, gardening, and events.
The project was made possible through the collective efforts of the community, including
financial contributions and volunteer labor for the installation process. The water tank is a longterm investment that supports both the spiritual and practical needs of the chapel.
Impact:
Reliable Water Supply: Ensures the chapel can support large gatherings and day-to-day
maintenance.
Promote Sustainability: Water from the tank is also used for the chapel's planted
vegetables and flowers.
Community Ownership: The collaborative effort fostered a sense of pride and
responsibility among members.
Highlights:
Conducted a special blessing for the water tank during its inauguration.
Created a maintenance team to oversee its proper usage and upkeep.
INCREASE IN REGISTERED MEMBERS
This year, the chapel’s membership grew by 12.5%, increasing from 40 registered members
in 2023 to 45 in 2024. This growth is a testament to the chapel’s welcoming environment and
active outreach programs. Efforts such as personal invitations, engaging activities, and meaningful
worship experiences played a significant role in attracting new members.
Each new member was warmly welcomed and encouraged to actively participate in chapel
activities. The increase in membership not only strengthens our community but also ensures the
continuity of our mission to serve God and our neighbors.
Impact:
Broader Community Engagement: New members bring fresh perspectives and talents.
Enhanced Participation: More members mean greater involvement in programs and
initiatives.
Spiritual Growth: A larger congregation enriches the chapel’s worship and fellowship.
Highlights:
Hosted an induction program to officially welcome new members.
Recorded a steady attendance of both new and long-time members at services and events.
