LET’SK KICK IT OFF!
ACTIVITY 1
1. Oxidizing
2. Reduced
3. NADH
4. ATP
5. Phosphoanhydride
ARE TOU TAKING IT?
ACTIVITY 2
1. B
2. A
3. D
4. C
5. B
NOW DO IT!
ACTIVITY 3
1. ATP, Glucose, photon, hydrolysis of ATP, ADP|
2. •Energy can be converted from one form to another, but it cannot be created nor destroyed.
•Energy cannot be converted without the loss of usable energy.
3. It comes from the chemical change of the system state of lower free energy and not from the phosphate
bonds. It is also because of the negative charges of the phosphate groups. These charges are crowded together
and their mutual repulsion contributes to the instability of that region of the ATP. The energy equivalent of the
triphosphate tail of the ATP is compared to a compressed spring.
PERFORMANCE TASK (to be sketched)
PERFORMANCE TASK
ACE IT!
ASSESSMENT
1. Visible light
2. Absorbs: •Blue and red
Reflects: •Green
3. Light-harvesting complex and reaction-center complex
4. Photosystem II
5. •Photosystem II- Functions first in the light reaction of photosynthesis. Its reaction-center effectively absorbs
light with a wavelength of 680nm and thus called P680.
•Photosystem I-Its reaction-center has a chlorophyll a called P700 because it’s effective in absorbing light with a
wavelength of 700nm.
