Grammar Box: Phrasal Verbs
Some phrasal verbs take an object, and some do not.
‘She will sit down.’
Phrasal verbs like sit down and stand up don’t have an object (e.g. "John, please stand up!").
For phrasal verbs that have an object, there are normally two possible positions where
the object can go. If the object is a pronoun, there is normally only one possible position.
Look at the examples below.
