Except in the upper part. In the upper part it is allowed to clean min. 160 mm -Conducting surveys (a) Equipment and facilities Tests shall be carried out using ultrasonic test kits meeting the requirements set out in points 5.1 ÷ 5.4 of this () bCurrent inspection of apparatus Prior to testing, carry out an inspection of the apparatus in accordance with EN ISO 22232-3:2021-03 () cSetting the sensitivity of the test For testing welded joints, use method No. 1 according to EN ISO 17640:2019-01. to scale Use gauges sensitivity settings.with through-holes fi 3mm NOTE! The correctness of the setting should be checked every 4 hours and at the end of the tests. Checking should also be carried out when a change has been made to the test system (replacement of the head, defectoscope-head connection cable) or when decalibration is suspected. If deviations are found during the setup check, corrections should be made in accordance with EN ISO 17640:2019-01. () dDetermination of the transition loss correction The correction should be determined using two oblique heads of the same type as the head to be tested Page4 of 8 Test Procedure No. 01/2025/UT Issue: 00 Date: 06.03.2025 Revision: 00 Date: 06.03.2025 UT ultrasonic testing of bracket welds Fig. 1 - Determination of the transfer loss correction (a) the position of the heads on the template No 1; (b) the position of the heads on the test material (c) screen defectoscopewith ED echo curve, wave transition pulses E1 - on the template E2 - on test material ΔWp - correction equal to the gain difference at which the pulses reach the echo bottom curve. We calculate the transition loss correction ΔWp from the formula: ΔWp = Wd2 - Wd1 + (W1 - W2) If the transition loss differences are less than or equal to 2 dB as the gain of the calibrated test defectoscope - a correction is not necessary. If the differences are greater than 2 dB but not greater than 12 dB, a correction must be made. If the differences on the transition loss are greater than 12 dB, the cause of this phenomenon must be found and the search area reworked if necessary. (g) Method of The method of testing is described in EN ISO 16810:2014-06. Test from both available head travel areas for BW welds 1 to 4 Test level B in accordance with EN ISO 17640:2019-01.
