I stand before you today to question whether this is the right move for our school. While I understand the concerns behind the ban, I believe that smartphones, when used responsibly, are essential tools for modern students. Smartphones help us record and store information, access learning materials instantly, and stay organized. Imagine snapping a photo of the whiteboard before class ends, or quickly researching a historical fact during a group discussion. These aren’t distractions—they’re enhancements to our learning. In addition, smartphones serve as all-In-one devices. They act as calculators, cameras, planners, even dictionaries. Banning them removes access to tools that help students be more independent and efficient. Also, GPS functions ensure students can navigate safely if traveling for school events or projects. However, I realise that the concerns. Smartphones can be misused. Constant texting, gaming, and social media can affect concentration. But banning them completely is not the solution. Instead, we should teach responsible usage. With the right boundaries, smartphones can become powerful educational allies, not enemies. Teenagers today are growing up in a digital world. Denying us access to technology doesn't prepare us for the future—it holds us back. Let’s focus on guidance, not restriction. Instead of banning smartphones, why not create rules that allow their use during appropriate times? Iphones aren’t the problem—how we use them is. Let’s not throw away a valuable resource. Let’s work together to use it wisely.
