LEARNING SOFT SKILLS
I. Introduction:
- Hook: What makes us good at our work? Our knowledge?
The experiences we’ve gathered in the past? All these
answers are correct, but we also need to include our soft
skill set. Our personalities can naturally contribute to
developing some of these abilities, but it’s fundamental to
learn how to put them into practice.
- Thesis Statement: Good day everyone! I am Nguyen
Phuong Anh Thu, and today, we’re going to learn about soft
skills that are easy to learn and can help you a lot along the
way as you enter the workforce. These skills are essential
not only for career advancement but also for building
meaningful relationships and adapting effectively to diverse
social and professional environments.
II. Body:
1. What are soft skills?
1.1 Definition
Soft skills are personal attributes that enable someone to
interact effectively and harmoniously with others according
to Oxford Languages, but I like to think of soft skills as
something magical and very precious. It’s what guides us in
making decisions, communicating effectively, and actively
listening to each other for feedback and new ideas.
Soft skills are skills that literally reflect their name, they are
usually skills that are easy to learn and do not require
physical work.
2. The Benefits:
Communication: The ability to effectively convey ideas,
thoughts, and information through verbal, non-verbal, and
written forms while also being an active communicator in the
conversation.
Critical Thinking: The ability to objectively analyze and
evaluate information or situations in order to make reasoned
judgments and informed decisions.
Empathy: The ability to understand and share the feelings,
perspectives, and experiences of others, fostering
compassion and stronger interpersonal connections.
Problem-Solving: The ability to identify issues, think
creatively, and implement effective solutions to overcome
challenges and obstacles.
Teamwork: Allow us to work collaboratively with others
toward a common goal by contributing effectively, respecting
diverse perspectives, and supporting group dynamics.
III.Conclusion:
Learning a new skill can sometimes be hard but do not let that deter
you from the result that you will get. Soft skills are what help us thrive
and not just our work, but our daily lives as well. Knowing these skills
will make a huge impact on how we handle challenges and connect
with others. These are the skills that stick with us beyond the
classroom and really shape how we succeed in the real world. So,
while we’re chasing degrees, let’s not forget to build the skills that
help us thrive in every part of life.
