A Special Celebration!
Welcome to your Baptism
Journey!
Today, we are going to learn all about
Water Baptism and why it's such a special
step in our walk with Jesus!
What is Baptism?
Baptism shows the world that we
love Jesus and want to follow
Him.
In baptism, we get fully immersed
under water. This shows that we
are ready to fully surrender
ourselves to Jesus!
“The word “Baptism” means fully
immersed and that is why we
don’t just sprinkle water on our
heads as a sign of baptism.
Do we need to be baptized to go to heaven?
No, we should receive Salvation in order to go to heaven. Water baptism and Holy Spirit baptism
happens after we receive salvation
Why Should We Get Baptized?
Baptism symbolizes our belief in Jesus and our
commitment to follow Him.
We do it to obey God's Word
Jesus was baptized, and we follow His example.
It’s an important step in becoming a follower of Jesus; it
gives us spiritual authority.
It identifies us with Christ’s Death, Burial, and Resurrection.
“Jesus answered, ‘Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do
this to fulfill all righteousness.’” (Matthew 3:15)
What Does Baptism Mean?
The Water: Cleanses us and
reminds us Jesus forgives our
sins.
Going Under Water: Represents
saying "Goodbye" to our old way
of living.
Coming Up: Signifies a new life
filled with God’s love and purpose.
How Do We Get Ready for
Baptism?
Step 1: Learn about Jesus and His love.
Step 2: Ask Jesus to forgive your sins and invite Him into your heart.
Step 3: Talk to a pastor or leader for guidance.
What Happens During Baptism?
A pastor or leader will lead you into the baptism tank,
and ask you the question, “Why would you want to
receive baptism?” After you answer that question, two
pastors / leaders will lay hands and pray over you. Then,
they will lead you fully under the water.
(Don’t worry! You won’t drown. They’ll pull you out
pretty fast)
Baptism shows that you are part
of God’s family and that you
belong to Him.
It’s a special moment where you
publicly show everyone that you
are following Jesus.
Why Is Baptism So Special?
“We were therefore buried with him through
baptism into death in order that, just as
Christ was raised from the dead through the
glory of the Father, we too may live a new
life.” (Romans 6:4)
Baptism is not just getting wet; it is a public
declaration of being a follower of Jesus.
Jesus is very pleased when you get baptized because it
shows you love Him.
It’s a celebration of your faith in Jesus, marking a
new life.
What Happens After Baptism?
Baptism is the beginning of your journey with Jesus.
You will grow closer to God by praying, reading the
Bible, and being kind to others.
Let’s Learn a Memory Verse!
Acts 2:38: “Peter replied, ‘Repent and be baptized... you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
