Networking Cables Installation:
Coaxial Cables:
o The coaxial cables are used mainly in internet and television setups. Anyone
can do the installation for this type of cableThe device must be precisely
stripped with a coaxial cable stripper so that the inner wire is not damaged.
Once stripped, the connectors are tightly fitted, using a crimping tool, to
prevent attenuation (loss of signal strength).
Fibre optic Cables:
o These require a skilled professional with specialized tools to install. Firstly,
the outer jacket is removed using a fibre optic stripper to expose the glass
fibres inside. The fibres are then spliced using a fibre optic cleaver. The fibres
are then carefully aligned using a fibre optic microscope. Much more
precison is need when installling fibre optic cables.
Twisted pairs:
o Mostly the unprotected twisted pair cabling (UTP) are used in LAN and
telephone installations. Depending on the use and the amount of dtat to be
transmitted different connectors are used, RJ11 or RJ45. Not much skill is
needed to install these. The wires are stripped, and the copper wires are
crimped using a crimper. For the RJ11 and RJ45, different types of crimpers
are used.
Ethernet cables:
o These need the technical know-how to install. After the wires are cut and
stripped, they are aligned based on the needs of the executor or the network
configuration. An RJ45 connector head is crimped using a specialized
crimping tool.
