FIRST CHAPTER FUN
Term One, Week Four – Miss Evans, 2025
First Chapter Fun
◦ Every Tuesday, we will do First Chapter Fun
◦ This will involve:
◦ 1. discussion time – we will look at the cover of the novel and read the blurb
◦ 2. prediction time – you will be given some time to note down your predictions
◦ 3. listening time - I will read the first chapter or the first 10 – 15 minutes of a book aloud
to you while you listen. During this time, you can colour your graphic organizer or take
notes
◦ 4. graphic organiser time – you will have time to fill out your graphic organiser
◦ 5. writing time – you will be given a prompt or some questions about what we’ve read
that you will respond to in your notebook
