What Motivation Japanese Language has given me
Good day everyone! I’m Ian, a Filipino, an employee of Super Flex Logistic Inc.
And a Japanese Language student.
“Ian why are you still studying Japanese Language, when the rest of us already quit” these are
The words I often hear to all my colleagues who opted to stop studying Japanese Language
because they find it hard to Learn the Language, and having difficulty to balance Work and Studying
at the same time. Simply that time my answer was “ I want to be COOL”.
When we hear the word “JAPAN” what comes first to our mind? Maybe Robots, High Rises Buildings,
Sushi?? Tempura?? and ahhhh KANJI”??
Since childhood I’ve been fascinated by a Country named JAPAN. I grew up watching ANIME
eventhough I don’t understand what their saying but since then till now on, im an Avid Fan. I am amazed
how Japanese People able to show to the world their advancement in terms of Technology, their
passion for Dramatic Arts like “Kabuki” and “Noh”, their capabilities to build futuristic Robots, who
would aide us and would lessen our burden in doing some tedious work. Their abilities to do research
about the vast deep Ocean and beyond limitless of our Sky.
These are just some pictures formed in my MIND and motivates me to Learn Japanese Language and
more about Japanese culture.
Learning Japanese language is a lifelong journey which is worth the effort. Technically, you could visit
Japan and have a nice time without knowing kanji. You can experience Japanese culture and meet
interesting people without speaking Japanese. You can also eat sushi without knowing the ingredients,
or watch anime with English subtitles. But I am more interested the other way around – I like to engage
in a difficult task, make my brain sweat a little, enhance my ability to understand people on a deeper
level, set goals, and keep learning every day. There will be a moment when you get the chance to meet
someone that inspires you. You make a connection, share an experience, build a relationship, or learn
something new, and you won’t regret your time spent learning Japanese.
I understand that it’s easy to quit studying Japanese. It’s difficult. You may feel defeated and give up
without proper motivation, goals, and rewards. But it’s worth the effort. So take time to figure out what
works for you! And with the help of my Japanese Teacher, my colleagues, my Bosses and Managers.
Someday, there will come a time, I will tell myself…… “ I’m COOL”..
Thank you for listening to my speech.
Have a good day everyone.
