PREPARATION FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS CAMP 9 (ISC9)

TRANSPORTATION TO THE CAMPSITE
a.
All participants must notify the SU Indonesia committee of the
planned transportation method to 5G Resort by filling out a form
that will be shared via WA/email.
b.
For participants from outside the city of Jakarta/Jabodetabek who
use airplanes, please inform us of the flight details (Airport,
Terminal number, Flight Name and Number, Arrival Time at Jakarta,
Departure Time from Jakarta) so we can plan the transportation.

For your ARRIVAL, it is best to reach the airport before 12:00pm
on 26 December 2024. SU people will be waiting for you with SU
Logo sign. Transportation (most likely by bus or van) will take
about 2 hours for you to reach the 5G Resort Hotel. Contact

For your DEPARTURE, please note that the camp will end with a
Thanksgiving Night on 1 January 2025. So, you should book
your departure flights/trains for 2 January 2025. Special
arrangements (which may incur extra cost) need to be made if
you have to stay longer.

Participants from Jabodetabek can go directly to 5G Resort Hotel.

For participants from outside the city of Jakarta/Jabodetabek who
use trains or bus, please go directly to the SU Indonesia office on
December 26th. Likewise, for those who want to go by
transportation (bus) arranged by SU Indonesia need to gather at
the SU Indonesia office. The bus will depart on 26th December at 12
pm. The address of SU Indonesia is:

a.
ACCOMMODATION
Campers and officers will be staying for six nights at the 5G Resort
Hotel in Bogor and one night at hotel in Jakarta (1st January 2025)
including for Indonesian campers from out of town. However,
after Thanksgiving Night on 1st January 2025 the Indonesian
campers who live in Jabodetabek will go home with their
parents/guardian as the parents will be invited to attend
Thanksgiving Night on 1st January at GKY Puri (invitations will be
sent later).
b.
At the 5G Resort Hotel, the accommodation will be 4 persons per
room. There will be air-conditioning and water heater. Towel and
toiletries are provided at the hotel, but if you want to bring your
own, please do so, and please bring slipper.
3.
a.
MEALS, FOOD & WATER
At the 5G Resort Hotel; three main meals, two tea break and one
supper will be provided daily. The menu will be basically local
cuisines, but we will do our best to make some adjustments to cater
to the “international” tastes of the campers and officers. For those
with allergies, we will write the ingredients for each dish and
provide information near the food so that those with allergies can
read it.
b.
You may bring some pocket money if you want, to buy stuff like soft
drinks and tidbits, etc.
c.
We are requesting every country to bring some special food to be
shared amongst us in the camp (International Fun Night). It would
be wonderful if you could bring some dry food such as biscuit, dried
fruits, sweets and/or similar tidbits typical of your area (just 1 small
pack) or small souvenir. Please write down the ingredients of the
snacks you bring so that those with food allergies can know.
d.
Please note that water from the tap is not for drinking. When at the
campsite, please drink water provided.
g.
Food hygiene can be a problem for someone who has sensitive
digestion. As a precaution, it may be good if you bring probiotics to
prevent digestive upset or get a flu shot if necessary. You can also
bring mosquito or insect repellent.

a.
CLOTHING & FOOTWEARS
The climate in Jakarta is tropical, sunny and humid, with daily
temperature ranging about 33oC in the day time and about 25oC at
night. There may be occasional rain. At the 5G resort 25oC in the
day time and about 18oC at night.

T-shirts, Polo Shirts, Jeans, Snickers and Sport Shoes would be
good for the Campers. Similar Casual Wears would be good for
Officers and Adults. In view of the climate, cotton materials are
recommended. Please note that beside teaching sessions in airconditioned halls (bring sweater if needed), there will also be
outdoor activities.
c.
Please be reminded that we should be sensitive to the local cultures
(which is basically Muslim). As such, clothing that too short (like hot
pants), too tight (body-hugging outfits), transparent (see-through
blouses), revealing (low-cut clothing) are not recommended.
d.
There will be special sessions when National/Traditional Costumes
would be required in International Fun Night (29th December) and
Thanksgiving Night (1st January 2025). Please bring along one set
of such clothing.
e.
It may be good that you be prepared to wash your smaller pieces of
clothing, if needed. Or there is also a laundry service at the 5G
resort.
5.
a.
JEWELRIES, GADGETS & MEDICINE
Expensive jewelries, watches and electronic devices are not
recommended to be brought along. If you do bring them, please be
mindful to watch over your personal belongings.
b.
If you need a specific medicine or commonly consumed, please
bring a sufficient supply along. Please take note of its active
ingredients and dosage, just in case you need to purchase them in
Bogor. If you are bringing some personal medication, it will be good
to have a proper prescription and/or doctor’s letter with you.
d.
We will have a medical team and some basic first aid supplies at the
camp. If you have allergies, please bring your usual medication and
bring a copy of your medical records with you so that if needed, we
could assist you properly.

PREPARATIONS
Don’t forget bring your Bible.
If you are experienced and have talent as a worship leader,
musician, singer, or dancer, don't hesitate to inform the committee
and prepare yourself for it. It will be needed to lead praise and
worship, which will be determined alternately by each country daily.
Each country (including Indonesia) needs to prepare a
performance/cultural show/cultural dance to be presented at
International Fun Night and Thanksgiving Night. On Thanksgiving
Night, SU Indonesia will invite partners, donors, councils, and
parents of Indonesian campers.
As the host of the ISC 9, all of you from Indonesia are also
expected to be friendly, help each other, and pay attention to

participants from other countries. It is good to be sensitive when
asking a question or making a comment.
The committee will soon create a WA group for all participants to
facilitate communication and provide information. At the end of
September, a joint Zoom meeting will be held.
7. CAMP DOCUMENTATIONS
a. All ISC9 programs & activities will be documented (photos and
videos). Some of the photos or videos will be used in SU Indonesia’s
printed materials and uploaded to the website or social media (such as
FB, IG, WhatsApp group, TikTok, or other platforms).
