1 -The Axillary Artery :
FIRST PART OF AXILLARY ARTERY
IT GIVES ONLY ONE BRANCH
HIGHEST THORACIC ARTERY

lies behind the pectoralis minor
It gives two branches ;
1- lateral thoracic artery
2- thoracoacromial

It gives three branches;

2-BRACHIAL ARTERY

PULSATION OF THIS ARTERY ARE FELT OR
AUSCULTATED WHEN TAKING BLOOD
PRESSURE.
BRANCHES OF BRACHIAL AA ;
1-PROFUNDA BRACHII
2- SUPERIOR ULNAR COLLATERAL
3- INFERIOR ULNAR COLLATERAL
* ALL SHARE ANASTOMOSIS AROUND THE
ELBOW JOINT
3- ulnar artery

The larger of the two terminal branches of brachial
artery , and gives three branches;
1-recurrent branch
2- common interosseous artery
3- branche to anastomoses around the wrist joint
4- RADIAL ARTERY

It gives two muscular branches
1-recurrent branch
2- superficial palmar branch
ARTERIES OF THE PALM
*THE SUPERFICIAL PALMAR ARCH
gives digital arteries to supply the fingers
the ulnar artery the main supply for this
arch by 90 % , radial 10%
*THE DEEP PALMAR ARCH
as the superficial arch ulner artery is the
supply , it sends branch superiorly to share
in anastomosis around the wrist joint,and
inferiorly to join branches of the superficial
palmar arch

Veins of upper limb
SUPERFICIAL VEINS

Include the cephalic vein and bacilic vein . Both of veins originate from the dorsal venus arch of
the hand . Also there is median vein and digital metacarpal
Deep veins

The deep veins of the upper limb are primarily located beneath the deep fascia and accompany
the arteries as venae comitantes . The main deep veins include ;
1- redial and ulnar veins .
2- brachial veins

3- the axillary veins .
4- subclavian vein .
Vein catheterization


The basilic vein is the vein of chocie for central venous catheterization
because from the cubital fossa until reaching the axillary vein ;
1- it increases in diameter
2- lies in direct line with axillary vein
