Electronic Communication
Electronic Communication refers to the
transmission of information, messages, or data
using electronic technologies such as email, text
messaging, social media, video calls, and other
digital platforms. It allows individuals and
organizations to communicate quickly and
efficiently over long distances using electronic
devices like computers, smartphones, and
tablets.
Telecommuting
Telecommuting, also known as remote work, is the
practice of working from a location outside of a
traditional office, typically from home, using digital
communication tools such as email, video
conferencing, and cloud-based applications. It allows
employees to perform their job duties without
needing to be physically present at a central
workplace, improving flexibility and work-life balance.
Electronic mail
Electronic Mail (E-mail) is a method of
sending and receiving digital
messages over the internet using
electronic devices such as computers,
smartphones, and tablets. It allows
users to exchange text, images,
documents, and other attachments
instantly, making communication fast
and efficient. Emails are typically sent
through email service providers like
Gmail, Outlook, and Yahoo Mail.
Facsimile
Facsimile (Fax) is a communication technology
that transmits scanned copies of documents,
images, or texts electronically over telephone
lines. The receiving machine prints a replica of the
original document, making it useful for sending
legal papers, contracts, and other important
documents quickly. Though less common today,
faxing is still used in some businesses and
institutions.
Smart phones
Smartphones are advanced mobile devices that
combine the functionalities of a traditional phone
with computing capabilities. They allow users to
make calls, send messages, browse the internet,
run applications, take photos, and access various
digital services. Smartphones are vital tools for
work, play, and communication because they
usually have touchscreens, internet access, and
operating systems like iOS or Android.
Blogging
Blogging is the act of creating and managing a
blog, which is an online platform where
individuals or organizations regularly publish
written content, images, videos, or other media.
Blogs can cover various topics, such as
personal experiences, business insights, news,
or hobbies. Blogging allows for interaction
through comments and shares, making it a
popular tool for communication, marketing, and
self-expression.

Factse to be considered in selecting
communication media.
1. Nature of the Message: Different messages require different levels of formality and detail. For
example, sensitive or complex information might be better conveyed through face-to-face
communication, while routine updates could be communicated via email or instant messaging.
2. Audience Preferences: Understanding the preferences and communication styles of your
audience is crucial. Some people may prefer written communication, while others may prefer
verbal or visual communication.
3. Urgency and Timeliness: The urgency of the message and the required response time should
dictate the choice of communication medium. For urgent matters, real-time communication
channels like phone calls or instant messaging may be more appropriate.
4. Accessibility: Consider the accessibility of the chosen medium to all intended recipients. Ensure
that everyone has access to and is comfortable with the selected communication tool.
5. Complexity of Information: Complex information may require interactive communication channels
such as video conferencing or face-to-face meetings to allow for clarification and discussion.
