TIMETABLE 1. The time indicated on the Timetable includes Reading Time. 2. Starting times for all centres within a territory are 09:00 hr and 13:00 hr Barbados time. 3. Private candidates registered for the Alternative Paper 04/2 in the French and Spanish Unit 1 and Unit 2 examinations will not be required to take a written paper but will be required to take the oral examinations. No dates have been scheduled for the oral examinations; however, they must be taken between 15 April – 02 May at the discretion of the Local Registrar. 4. Art & Design: The Question Papers for Unit 1 Paper 2 and Unit 2 Paper 2 are to be handed to candidates on Thursday, 17 April. The examinations must be completed during the period 08 – 21 May. 5. Use of Dictionaries i. The use of dictionaries is permitted for French and Spanish Paper 03 ONLY. Candidates are allowed one text related to each theme to assist them in answering Section B of Paper 03. ii. N.B: Texts that are heavily annotated are not permitted in the examination room. 6. Use of Calculators i. The use of silent non-programmable scientific calculators is permitted for the following examinations: a. Accounting Units 1 & 2 b. Agricultural Science Units 1 & 2 c. Use of Notes in Law Examination by Candidates i. Candidates writing the Alternative Paper to SBA (Paper 03/2) for Law Units 1 & 2 will be permitted to take into the examination room notes prepared on the topic of the year: - Judicial Review from Unit 1, and Strict Liability in Tort from Unit 2. When responding to the question, candidates may refer to their prepared notes. 8. Use of Electronic Devices and Personal Computers i. The use of electronic devices and /or personal computers with earphones/headphones is permitted in the French Units 1 & 2 Paper 01, and Spanish Units 1 & 2 Paper 01 examinations. Each candidate will have access to available electronic media for use in the Paper 01 examination. ii. The use of electronic devices and /or personal computers with earphones/headphones is permitted for listening and playback in the French Units 1 & 2 Paper 01, and Spanish Units 1 & 2 Paper 01 examinations. 9. Use of Geometry Sets i. The use of geometry sets (mathematical instruments) is permitted in the following examinations: a. Applied Mathematics Units 1 & 2 b. Building & Mechanical Engineering Drawing Units 1 & 2 c. Environmental Science Units 1 & 2 d. Geography Units 1 & 2 e. Integrated Mathematics f. Pure Mathematics Units 1 & 2 10. Statistical Tables and List of Formulae i. The following subjects require statistical tables and lists of formulae. a. Applied Mathematics Units 1 & 2 b. Integrated Mathematics c. Pure Mathematics Units 1 & 2 11. Science Practical Examinations i. The Alternative Paper to SBA (Paper 03/2) in Biology, Chemistry and Physics is a practical examination – laboratory facilities will be required. 21 a. Candidates taking the Alternative Paper to SBA (Paper 03/2) in the CAPE Sciences are permitted to take into the exam room notebooks and/or any materials relevant to the practical examination. When responding to the appropriate question, candidates may refer to their prepared notes. b. Please note the Supervisor’s Reports and Instructions for Setting up Labs should be shared 2 weeks ahead of the examinations for candidates taking the Alternative Paper to SBA (Paper 03/2) in the CAPE Sciences (Biology, Chemistry and Physics). 12. Applied Mathematics i. The subject requires the use of a Case Study for the Paper 03/2. The Paper 03/2 Case Studies are to be handed to private candidates on 27 May for Unit 1 and 02 June for Unit 2. ii. Use of Notes in Applied Mathematics Examination by Candidates a. Candidates writing the Alternative Paper to SBA (Paper 03/2) for Applied Mathematics Units 1 & 2 will be permitted to take into the examination room notes prepared on the case study of the year. b. When responding to the question, candidates may refer to their prepared notes. 13. e-Assessment Administration and Hybrid i. The following represents the examinations that will be offered online ONLY. a. Animation & Game Design b. Digital Media c. Performing Arts Paper 1 ii. Subjects offered as Hybrid this year are as follows a. Design and Technology Paper 2 b. All Paper 3/2s (except SCIENCES – Biology, Chemistry and Physics) iii.
