performances, competing in sports tournaments, and engaged in intellectual pursuits.

1. The city-state where prominent philosophers such as Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle,
who investigated basic issues about life, morality, and the nature of reality was
distinguished by its philosophical and creative achievements is added in the Athenian
culture.
2. Athenian art and architecture such as the Parthenon, a temple dedicated to the
goddess Athena, represents the classical architectural style known as Doric order and is
still an iconic symbol of ancient Greek culture received praise for their beauty and
creativity.
