Welcoming Speech for Ramadan Iftar & Award Ceremony
Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem.
Respected guests, teachers, students, and dear friends,
Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh!
Basil: It is with immense joy and gratitude that I welcome you all to this special gathering as we
come together in the spirit of Ramadan—a month of reflection, devotion, and community.
Ramadan is not only a time for fasting but also for strengthening our faith, purifying our hearts,
and extending kindness to others.
As the sun sets and we prepare to break our fast, let us remember the countless blessings
bestowed upon us and the values of patience, gratitude, and self-discipline that this sacred
month teaches us. May this Iftar be not just a meal but a moment of unity, a reminder that in our
togetherness, we find strength and purpose.
Sara: However, today is even more special because, along with our anticipated iftar, we are
here to celebrate excellence and dedication. Recently, we conducted our very own Ramadan
Drive 2025, where students represented their knowledge and love for our religion through
recitations, surahs and of course, quizzes!
To all the award recipients with us here—congratulations! Your commitment and efforts are truly
inspiring. In addition, we greatly thank the others who participated in the Drive - without your
presence, the event just wouldn’t have been the same!
Basil: So, before we start, let's embrace the Holiness
Basil: Alright, now that we’ve gotten things out of the way, let’s start the event! I would request
our esteemed Head of Section, Kamrul Sir, to come up on stage and share a few words of
wisdom.
Sara: Thank you Sir, for that awe-inspiring speech. Now, let’s move onto the award ceremony!
We’ll start off with the 3rd position winners for each category.
Basil: reads out the names of the winners
Sara: Wow, those winners must have been really talented! Moreover, it shows their dedication
and love for both the religion and society, which really is appreciated by everyone. Another
round of applause for these winners!
Basil: Yeah, for sure! However, our program is far from being over. Let’s now call upon our
brothers and sisters from the junior section to recite a wonderful group nasheed!
Sara: Mashallah! That was, in essence, simply spectacular! Aside from their beautiful voices,
their teamwork and dedication behind mastering this nasheed was there for all to see in their
performance!
Basil: I totally agree with that! So Sara, what's next?
Sara: Well, now that we’ve had a joyful experience listening to their angelic nasheed, let’s move
onto the award ceremony once again! This time, we’ll call up on Mr/Mrs (XYZ) upon the stage to
hand over awards for all the second place winners of the Ramadan Drive!
Sara: *reads out the names*
Basil: Another round of applause for these winners! Now, how about 1 final nasheed to wrap up
the performances for the program? Because personally, I LOVED the first one!
Sara: Well then, you're in luck! Because our very own winner of the nasheed competition,
person (XYZ) will now be performing (whatever). A big round of applause please!
Basil: Wow, what. A. performance! Sara, what’d you think of it?
Sara: That was totally awesome! That performance singlehandedly displays the amazing
performances our school has to offer! We really do have some young talents here in IHSB!
Basil: Speaking of young talents, its time to award the toppers of all the categories! Ladies and
gentlemen, put your hands together for the winners of the Ramadan Drive!
Basil: *reads out the names*
Sara: Having reached the cusp of our evening, and with the sun setting in a few minutes, I’d like
to invite Mr. Tim Fisher for a final hospitable speech regarding today’s importance.
Basil: With that, our event has come to an end. Thank you so much for your time!
