July 2022 3 Chartworld International MyRA Version 1.6 - User Guide Preface This User Guide describes the use of Version 1.6. of ChartWorld’s successful route-appraisal tool, MyRA. MyRA has already earned high regard in the marketplace, as a reliable, userfriendly means of planning a single voyage. Version 1.6.’s key innovation is that the mariner can now plan the next voyage, or indeed up to five voyages in advance, while the present voyage is still in progress. Alternatively, up to six voyages can be planned in advance if no Voyage Plan is currently active. This flexibility adds real value in helping the mariner to optimize the time available. Being able to plan up to six different voyages satisfies a need in situations in which the next destination is not finalised until a (very) late stage in the process or the amount of time in port is very limited. So MyRA Version 1.6. enables the mariner to plan with confidence for upcoming voyages. The documentation corresponds to the respective software version. Nevertheless, for technical reasons, it can be the case that the software differs from the functionality described. July 2022 11 MyRA 1.6: User Guide 2 Overview of Functions 2.1 Main Functions (Menu Bar) ChartWorld International Figure 1 Enlarged view: Figure 2 At the left margin, the Menu Bar consists of six icons. These enable you to skip between the most relevant MyRA functions. The Main Menu - clicking this icon calls-up a context menu. This provides several different options and functions – (see 2.2) The Inbox - (see 2.3) provides access to newly-received messages which have not been acknowledged yet. These messages will disappear, either after acknowledgment or because of a change in status. 12 July 2022 Chartworld International MyRA 1.6: User Guide Voyage Plan Dashboard (see 2.4) This is where the voyage plans are created and managed. It provides an overview of all voyage plans. Its sub-elements are New Voyage Plan, Active Voyage Plan (if there is one), Pending Voyage Plans, and Finished Voyage Plans. Selected Voyage Plan (see 2.5) calls up a visual representation of the voyage plan selected. It is where you can modify the voyage plan, activate it, get full details of it shown, call-up the single-sheet overview of that voyage plan’s basic details, and end the voyage plan. Inventories inventory list. - (see 6.3) - this displays the licensed ENCs and enables you to export an Data Deliveries - (see 6.1): provides a history of data deliveries and enables you to download datasets, new or old. Datasets which have not been downloaded yet are highlighted in yellow. Two icons at the top-right of the MyRA window need explanation: Figure 3 Figure 4 July 2022 13 MyRA 1.6: User Guide ChartWorld International Communications Indicator: The icon furthest left (horizontal line through a circle) is the Communications Indicator. It shows the communication activity between MyRA Ship and the ChartWorld server. This function uses arrow icons to present incoming and outgoing commands: It informs the user on the uploading and downloading of files, on the amount of data that is being uploaded or downloaded, and also on the speed of the uploading/downloading process. The arrow in the red circle is what you see when the Communications Indicator is in active communication mode. Service Indicator The next icon, second-left in the top-right corner (Figure 4), is the Service Indicator. This enables the start/stop command to be activated for the server of MyRA Ship. If the indication light is green, it shows that the server is running; if it is not running, the light is red. 14 July 2022 Chartworld International 2.2 MyRA 1.6: User Guide Main Menu Window in Menu Bar. Figure 5 The Main Menu icon, the first on the Menu Bar, offers the user access to the following commands. 1 Diagnostics - You have the opportunity to choose between: Send Diagnostic Data (Note: our support team can evaluate a diagnostic file sent only if you also inform ChartWorld support by mail about the issue that exists). Save Diagnostic Data 2 Settings - The settings consist of two sections, Server and Communication. All information about the communication and server settings should be provided by your IT department or email provider. 3 Send Media State Report – Here you can choose/update your latest Base Media. Note that the base media you are using should be no more than three months old. 4 Update Route Network - Updated monthly, either by eChart DVD or from Chartworld’s FTP. 5 Request Welcome Mail – In the initial installation process, you enter-in your settings and send the request welcome mail. When you receive the welcome mail back from ChartWorld back-office, it tells you that the communication with the ChartWorld back office has been set up successfully for MyRA. 6 About – Contains information about the MyRA program. 7 Exit – This will close the MyRA program. July 2022 15 MyRA 1.6: User Guide 2.3 ChartWorld International Inbox Messages Received in MyRA When you start-up MyRA, the first dialogue that opens up for you is the Inbox. The following buttons may be displayed on the right-hand side of the Inbox screen when you receive a message in the Inbox: No button: no action has to be performed CONFIRM SHOW START SERVER CHECK EXPORT EDIT Following the Main Menu item, the second item in the Menu Bar (far-left) is the Inbox. When ChartWorld sends a notification, replying to a request by the user, that response goes to the Inbox. Figure 6 You can reach the Inbox at any time, just by clicking on the icon, located in the Menu Bar (farleft). 16 July 2022 Chartworld International MyRA 1.6: User Guide Once MyRA receives a new message, the Inbox icon will turn orange. The message will be displayed in the Inbox section. In the case of some items (not all), when you acknowledge an incoming message by clicking the respective button, this message is not visible and is no longer accessible. Not all items have a button and not all items are removed when they are clicked. An example: some inbox items only disappear when a critical status (a communication problem, for instance) gets resolved. July 2022 17 MyRA 1.6: User Guide 2.4 ChartWorld International Voyage Plan Dashboard The key new addition to the MyRA User Interface is the Voyage Plan Dashboard: Figure 7 Enlarged view: Figure 8 New Voyage Plan When you introduce a voyage plan for the first time (rather than calling-up a voyage plan previously used or drafted), that new element is initially located in New Voyage Plan. 18 July 2022 Chartworld International MyRA 1.6: User Guide Pending Voyage Plans For this User Guide, the sections are explained in the chronological sequence of activities. This differs from the sequence shown on the Voyage Plan Dashboard itself. The dashboard presents the Active Voyage Plan section above the pending voyage plans. Doing this emphasises the current active voyage. As soon as a Voyage Plan is approved (and if it is not activated directly as the new active Voyage Plan), it is automatically placed in the section called Pending Voyage Plans. You can have as many as five different Pending Voyage Plans, each one ready to go into action if that particular plan is activated as the next voyage destination. Alternatively, you can have six Pending Voyage Plans if no Voyage Plan is activated at present. In Figure 9, five pending Voyage Plans have the same port of departure (in this case Southampton in GB); the five potential destinations each state a different Arrival Port – in the example: Antwerp, Rotterdam, Helsinki, La Coruna, Copenhagen. Instead of this, you may, of course, plan up to six consecutive voyages. In this example, the Active Voyage Plan – New York to Southampton – is the incoming voyage that makes possible all these five options. Figure 9 Active Voyage Plan Once you have activated the pending voyage plan of your choice, sent to you by ChartWorld in response to your request and then approved by you, that route becomes the active voyage, shown in Active Voyage Plan. Until the proposed route is activated by the user, it remains in the section called Pending Voyage Plan. As the alternative to activation at a later time, the user can activate a Voyage Plan directly, in the same moment as it is approved (see Figure 34). So approval and activation can take place simultaneously but they are two separate activities. Finished Voyage Plans A voyage plan is used as the Active Voyage Plan for a given voyage. Another voyage can be activated as the Active Voyage Plan, replacing (in effect, overwriting) the previous active July 2022 19 MyRA 1.6: User Guide ChartWorld International voyage plan, whether that previous active voyage has in fact been completed yet or not. When a voyage plan (completed or not completed) is replaced by another active voyage plan, the replaced active voyage plan is then moved automatically into Finished Voyage Plans. In addition to closed Voyage Plans, rejected Voyage Plans are placed in Finished Voyage Plans. These finished voyage plans can be re-used for planning a new voyage at a later point in time. Note also that no new data is provided for Finished Voyage Plans as part of any chart-update delivery. 2.5 Selected Voyage Plan When the user clicks Selected Voyage Plan on the Menu Bar, it brings onto the screen the last item that was called-up in the Voyage Plan. Here is an example: Figure 10 Activate Voyage Plan The example (Figure 10) shows a pending voyage plan. It is not yet an activated voyage plan; this is evident because the prompt Activate Voyage Plan is shown. To finalise a decision to use this plan (and therefore to rule out any plan that conflicts with it, in terms of the timing), click Activate Voyage Plan. 20 July 2022 Chartworld International 2.6 MyRA 1.6: User Guide Inventories; Data Deliveries The last-but-one prompt in the Menu Bar (far left) is Inventories: For the entry on Inventories, go to 6.3. The last prompt in the Menu Bar is Data Deliveries: For the main entry on Data Deliveries, go to 6.1. July 2022 21 MyRA 1.6: User Guide 3 ChartWorld International How to Create a New Voyage Plan If you want to create a new Voyage Plan, click the Voyage Plan Dashboard and then press New. This calls-up the Voyage Data screen; it looks like this: Figure 11 22 July 2022 Chartworld International MyRA 1.6: User Guide Enlarged view: Figure 12 3.1 Voyage Data: Notes Company Information: The MyRA system automatically fills-in these values. Voyage ID: Enter a Voyage Name and an ID (with at least three digits). It is not allowed to use a space sign or any special characters as part of this ID. Schedule Data: When entering a port name, a port list is accessible, also showing different terminals (if available). You can use one of the following three items as your search criterion: country; port; LOCODE. Berthing Positions: You may enter your exact position for departure or arrival (only if the name of the port has already been given). Berthing Position: Notes If the position entered is more than 10 nm from the selected port, the distance indication turns red. This is to avoid wrongly-entered coordinates. It will still be possible to send requests even if the distance to port is greater than 10 nm. July 2022 23 MyRA 1.6: User Guide ChartWorld International Response if Port is Not in MyRA Database Note: If a port is not available in MyRA, you need to define the departure point or arrival point. Do this by using the Berthing Positions feature. Follow this process: Select any of the available ports, so that a position can be entered manually. Enter the position of the required port of departure and port of arrival respectively. Do not select a pilot station in MyRA’s Pilot Outbound / Pilot Inbound functions. Send the route request, wait for a response, and accept the Voyage Plan Proposal that you receive. In very rare cases, the manually-entered position will be connected, using a straight line, to an existing point in the routing database. This ensures that you get the required ENC coverage. Usually, however, in such an instance MyRA will provide a route. Yet MyRA cannot guarantee the route’s quality because that route is created purely by algorithm-and is not part of the existing Route Network. When you receive the final voyage plan, including a route file and ENC updates, please load them into the ECDIS. Adjust the route to suit your needs. Use the modified-route feature to receive all required data for the route uploaded; this includes voyage-plan and additional data. Please keep in mind the 0.5 nm limitation when you modify the start-point and the endpoint. You can adjust all other waypoints as much as you like. Please inform ChartWorld of any port not in the list (including its coordinates). The port will be added to the database. 24 July 2022 Chartworld International 3.2 MyRA 1.6: User Guide Vessel Data Figure 13 Vessel Data: Dangerous Goods; Vertical Clearance Several factors influence the routing results: Draft and Margin (meaning: the Under Keel Clearance <UKC> margin): The Max. Draft of a ship’s hull is the maximum vertical distance between the waterline and the bottom of the vessel’s hull (its keel). Maximum Draft is used because the draft changes depending on how much weight the vessel is carrying. Air Draft and Margin (air draft: the vertical distance from the surface of the water to the highest point of the vessel). The air draft plus the safety margin, added together, form the vertical clearance (in metres). Dangerous Goods / DG in bulk If the vessel is transporting dangerous goods, you must tick the box that states this. A tick in that first box calls-up a second box, enabling you to specify that the cargo is bulk dangerous goods, if that is the case. Voyage Segments: Notes Berthing: At the voyage’s start position and at its end position, the Berthing Area extends (as its maximum extent) no further than to the Pilot Station selected (if a Pilot Station is July 2022 25 MyRA 1.6: User Guide ChartWorld International available and is used). Confined waters: At the voyage’s start position and the voyage’s end position, this is the area between the pilot station (if one is used) and the outer boundary of the berthing area. Coastal waters: These are defined as areas less than 12 nm from the shoreline or with a water depth less than twice the Max. Draft set in MyRA. Open sea: This is defined as areas more than 12 nm from shoreline and with a water depth more than twice the Max. Draft size in MyRA. 3.3 Service & Routing You can make a one-time voyage plan, not using any options for response to available data on weather conditions. If you do so, the Service & Routing screen looks like this: One-Time Voyage Plan Figure 14 26 July 2022 Chartworld International MyRA 1.6: User Guide Figure 15 Enlarged view: Figure 16 Likewise, if you are planning a one-time voyage you can also use the Weather Routing (Figure 16). July 2022 27 MyRA 1.6: User Guide ChartWorld International En-Voyage Service Figure 17 Using the En-Voyage Service, you can optimise your route in relation to weather conditions (see Figure 17). This includes setting a maximum wave height used in route calculation (if you so choose). This means ruling-out any potential route where the calculation forecasts that waves will exceed that height. The choice made here is whether to take the shortest distance or to optimise the route in fuelconsumption terms, in relation to the weather. You have three optimisation parameters to choose from: Fixed Speed (knots); Fixed RPM (revolutions per minute); or Fixed Engine Load (percentage). For some vessels it might be more convenient to define Fixed RPM or Fixed Engine Load. Weather-Routing Services Note: Weather Routing. MyRA has two weather-routing services. The User Interface is adjusted to match the license that you have. You need to have a weather-routing licence to be able to use this functionality. The two service-providers used are DTN (MeteoGroup) and NAPA respectively. Companies that use MyRA need to subscribe to the Weather Routing service in order to benefit from these functions. 28 July 2022 Chartworld International MyRA 1.6: User Guide Functions provided by both: DTN (Meteo Group) and NAPA provide the option of optimised fuel-consumption, in terms of the weather conditions. The two companies’ services also both offer maximum wave height as a calculation parameter. Differences: DTN (MeteoGroup) DTN (MeteoGroup) offers optimization in terms of minimizing the voyage’s duration; that company also offers the maximum-wind-speed parameter and minimum distance to hurricane. Differences – NAPA. NAPA offers optimization in terms of minimum distance. This function takes max. wave height into account. It finds the shortest route by avoiding the max. wave height that has been set. NAPA gives users three options for calculating the route: o fixed speed (in knots); o fixed number of propeller revolutions per minute; o fixed engine load (as a percentage of full use of capacity). ETD; Safety Settings; Initial Information Inputs on Estimated Time of Departure (ETD) and Safety Settings respectively form part of any New Voyage Plan. The first reference to Safety Settings is in Vessel Data, Section 3.2. Also, when activating a Pending Voyage Plan, the user is requested to use the Activation dialogue either re-confirm or to amend the data given on those parameters. This is why the main information about entering data for Estimated Time of Departure (ETD) and Safety Settings is located in Sections 4.2.1 - 4.2.3, starting with Figure 35, the Activation dialogue. July 2022 29 MyRA 1.6: User Guide 3.4 ChartWorld International Route Figure 18 Detail: Figure 19 30 July 2022 Chartworld International MyRA 1.6: User Guide Via-Points Figure 20 Note: Closed via-point. It can happen that no route is created because a required Via Point is set as being closed. If a Via Point’s status is changed, MyRA will retain that new status for upcoming Voyage Plans, until it is changed again. To a certain degree, the Via Points can be used to make a re-route, in other words to make a change to the initially planned route. Carefully check whether all Via Points are set as required and whether the route indicated is what you want it to be. If a Via Point is open (shown in green, see Figure 20) this does not necessarily mean that this via-point is a component of the route. It only indicates that the passage shown is possible. 3.5 Pilot Outbound Off; Pilot Inbound On MyRA’s pilot function works in the same way whether you are choosing a pilot for the outbound journey at the voyage’s start or an inbound pilot for shortly before the voyage’s end. July 2022 31 MyRA 1.6: User Guide ChartWorld International Figure 21 32 July 2022 Chartworld International MyRA 1.6: User Guide Figure 22 Select Pilot Station: to select your pilot station, place the cursor over the black diamond shape in the relevant circle, representing that station. The message Select Pilot Station appears, as shown (Figure 22). Right-click that message, check the details, and confirm that choice if you accept it. July 2022 33 MyRA 1.6: User Guide ChartWorld International Figure 23 After the pilot station is selected, it is shown in green, not in black (see Figure 23); the details of the pilot station are shown at the top. 34 July 2022 Chartworld International MyRA 1.6: User Guide Figure 24 There may be several pilot stations to choose from, as is the case in Figure 24. If you choose to, click Clear Pilot in order to cancel any selection. Not all ports have a pilot station available for selection. The pilot stations made available are those that are shown in ENCs. If no pilot station is available, simply skip this selection. 3.6 Send Request The last prompt in the Menu Bar, bottom-left of the screen – Send Request – gives an overview of the details for the voyage plan that you will request: July 2022 35 MyRA 1.6: User Guide ChartWorld International Figure 25 Enlarged view of information: Figure 26 36 July 2022 Chartworld International MyRA 1.6: User Guide Send Request: Notes When you activate Send Request, if any of the sections do not have all their required entry boxes filled-in, the Change… button shows red and the Voyage Plan cannot be sent. (The key word here is ‘required’: not all voyage requests require an entry for every item for which you, as the user, could make an entry). If any required data is missing, a message window will open: ‘Some fields in the current Voyage Plan are not valid. These fields are marked red. Abort sending request.’ When you click on OK, the system will automatically jump to the section that has the nonacceptance; if it does not, click on Change… for the relevant section and enter the required/missing values. Figure 27 Immediately after you send the voyage plan request, the Inbox provides you with confirmation that the request was sent successfully (if it was). A short time later, you will get a message ‘You received a voyage plan proposal for voyage plan …’ in your Inbox. Figure 28 There is a CHECK button on the right. Use that to access the voyage plan proposal. Enlarged view: Figure 30 Note Send Binding Order Figure 30, showing the Voyage Plan Proposal dialogue, includes the command Send Binding Order. There are two options for Send Binding Order: Approval and activation ticked: see Section 4.1: Direct activation … for next action. Approval but not activation at the moment: a later activation is made from among the pending voyage plans; that takes you to Section 4.2.1: The Activation Dialogue; proceed from there. 38 July 2022 Chartworld International MyRA 1.6: User Guide Voyage Plan Proposal: Note Note Voyage Plan Proposal: The Voyage Plan Proposal enables you to review the voyage created, before any decision to order it. It displays the planned route (only as a reference, not to be used for navigation!) for your voyage and the ship’s symbol at the port of departure. Also, the ENCs which are in your Inventory and relevant for your voyage are shown on your chart in white; the ENCs which still need to be ordered are shown in red on the chart. Use the buttons at the top-left margin of the chart display (Figure 31) to show the following information on the chart display, or to hide it: Grid Lines, Basket, Inventory, ENCs, and Hide Products. If you have chosen Weather Routing, the following functions are available to you: at the topright margin of the chart display (Figure 31) you can also tick Pressure, Wind and/or Wave. This will show the selected weather information on the chart. You can see how the weather is changing by using the Play button or using the slider. Figure 31 July 2022 39 MyRA 1.6: User Guide ChartWorld International Voyage Plan Proposal: Show Initial Voyage Data Figure 32 If you click Show Initial Voyage Data (Figure 31), it opens up an overview of the proposed voyage’s details, in a single image: Figure 32. 40 July 2022 Chartworld International MyRA 1.6: User Guide Show Voyage Plan Proposal Figure 33 When you click Show Voyage Plan (Figure 31), you get a PDF, marked ‘SAMPLE’. Its first page takes the format that you see in Figure 33. Check that you accept the contents of the proposal. July 2022 41 MyRA 1.6: User Guide 4 How to Activate a Voyage Plan 4.1 Direct Activation as Active Voyage Plan ChartWorld International When you receive a Voyage Plan Proposal, you may wish to not only approve the Voyage Plan but also set that Voyage Plan straightaway, as your new Active Voyage Plan. Figure 34 If you choose to do so (see Figure 34), click both I approve the Voyage Plan Proposal from ChartWorld and Activate the Voyage Plan directly. Then Send Binding Order … Note: Remember that, if you already have an existing active voyage plan, that voyage plan will be overwritten if you activate another voyage plan. 4.2 Activation from Pending Voyage Plans The alternative to activating a Voyage Plan at the same time as you approve it is to approve the plan first and then activate it later. In that case the approved Voyage Plan is transferred automatically to Pending Voyage Plans in the Voyage Plan Dashboard. 42 July 2022 Chartworld International MyRA 1.6: User Guide The Activation Dialogue Figure 35 The activation dialogue - Figure 35 - appears when you select a pending voyage plan and confirm your wish to activate that plan (meaning: to now make it the active voyage). July 2022 43 MyRA 1.6: User Guide ChartWorld International Route geometry - changed or not? If you activate a One-Time Voyage Plan from Pending Voyage Plans, only a route check is performed. In such a case, no changes are made to route geometry in order to take weather conditions into account. By contrast, if you activate a Pending Voyage Plan, making use of En-Voyage Service, the complete route will be recalculated, including the route geometry. Estimated Time of Departure (ETD) See Figure 35. The ETD is highly significant: the calculation used for optimization is based on the forecast that takes this ETD as its starting-point. It may be the case that a mariner chooses an ETD that is a certain number of hours later than the earliest possible ETD; this is because bad weather is forecasted to affect that earlier departure much worse than it would affect a voyage with a slightly later ETD. Aside from weather factors, unforeseen delays with cargo-loading, for instance, may also make necessary a later ETD than was planned. The Activation dialogue, with its ETD section, is shown here because, in very many cases, it is not until the mariner is in port, finalising preparations for the next voyage, that he/she can best judge the precise ETD. That finalised ETD is entered (or confirmed) in the Activation dialogue when the mariner is activating what was previously a Pending Voyage Plan. Safety Settings See Figure 35. For each of four voyage segments, the safety settings consist of the draft plus the safety margin. Static factors and dynamic factors are combined to form the Safety Setting Values. Each MyRA user integrates these factors into the values entered in the Activation dialogue, in the way that most closely fits that user’s needs. 44 July 2022 Chartworld International MyRA 1.6: User Guide Pull Service If you click Send Binding Order …, you receive the following message. Figure 36 Re-Sending of Orders If you click the Send Binding Order … button and you receive no delivery within a certain time, that button stays active and will now say Send Order Again. However, note that the re-send order request can be processed only until the moment when ChartWorld delivers data in response to the initial order. It might be the case that data got lost during the data transfer. In this case, please contact ChartWorld Support. July 2022 45 MyRA 1.6: User Guide ChartWorld International Select Media State Figure 37 When you confirm that you want to proceed, you receive a message like this (Figure 37): Sequence of Activities after Order is Sent When you have clicked Send Now, in response to the Pull Service information received, the following message appears very briefly: Figure 38 There is no need to respond to this. 46 July 2022 Chartworld International MyRA 1.6: User Guide This message is then replaced, automatically and very quickly, by the following message (placed over the first): Figure 39 Click OK in response to this. Then the previous message reappears: ‘The order has been sent. Please wait for an answer.’ Now click OK in response to that message and wait for the response message in the Inbox. Then click CONFIRM; you should receive the following answer in the INBOX. ‘You received a voyage plan <plus ‘Name of voyage’>, as follows: Figure 40 Click SHOW and review the voyage plan proposal that you have received. It may be the case that you receive the following answer ‘There are neither updated permits nor data available for your licence’ (Figure 41), Figure 41 Enlarged view: showing the prompt CONFIRM, on the right. This means that you already have the data status that you need in order to go ahead. You do not need to get extra updated permits or any other updated information. July 2022 47 MyRA 1.6: User Guide 4.3 ChartWorld International Voyage Plan Received When the newly-received Voyage Plan is opened-up, the upper part of the screen looks like this: Figure 42 Detail: Figure 43 End Voyage At this stage, a voyage plan has been approved but not yet activated. if you now click End Voyage, MyRA transfers this voyage plan to Finished Voyage Plans in the Voyage Plan Dashboard). Doing this means that the Voyage Plan is removed from the Pull Service (so no more chart updates will be provided for this voyage). 48 July 2022 Chartworld International 5 MyRA 1.6: User Guide How to Modify a Voyage Plan This section shows how MyRA responds when you want to modify the route that you approved and activated (either at the same moment when you approved it or at a later time, from Pending Voyage Plans) in response to the original request. Modifications of Voyage Plan Received Certain criteria apply to any modification of a voyage plan: The route must be edited in the user’s ECDIS. The position of the First WP / Last WP must be within a range of < 0.5 nm from the route initially requested Pilot Outbound Off/Pilot Inbound On: within range < 2 nm of the WP assigned Pilot Outbound Off/Pilot Inbound On: within range > 2 nm of the Pilot Station selected In looking at modifications, this Guide firstly looks at the response to a route with an invalid entry. Then we go through the sequence of activities in response to a valid route-modification request. Prepare an .rtz file The first task in modifying a route is to prepare an .rtz file with the proposed modification. Then call-up ‘Voyage Plan’, click ‘Send Modified Route’ (as shown in Figure 49), select the rtz file prepared, and submit it. Route Conversion MyRA was designed to produce route-data, in the .rtz format, that is compatible with ECDIS systems and with other relevant international standards. We at ChartWorld can provide an external tool that enables rtz routes to be converted into several other formats. This supplementary Route Conversion Utility overcomes any datacompatibility issues that result from the fact that there is not uniformity across the industry in terms of how rtz-format is interpreted. That non-uniformity has resulted in differing interpretations by different ECDIS manufacturers. The Route Conversion Utility ensures that ECDIS models that do not have a .rtz file compatibility with MyRA, as standard, can nonetheless also work successfully with routenetwork data from MyRA. The User Guide and installation of the Route Conversion Utility are available on the ChartWorld eChart DVD or can be provided by the ChartWorld Customer Support team. July 2022 49 MyRA 1.6: User Guide ChartWorld International Example: Modified Route Showing an Invalid Modification Figure 44 Figure 44 lists factors that MyRA takes into account in accepting or rejecting a proposed modification to a route. In the example given, to show what a message indicating a rejected modification looks like, a different port of destination was inserted in the modified route. So the last waypoint is obviously too far away from the original route’s last waypoint. There are 12 evaluation parameters: the first three relate to the modification file sent; the fourth and fifth relate to the first and last waypoint respectively; and the last seven relate to the arrangements for the use of pilots. Requests for Route Modifications While MyRA is processing the requested modification to the route, the Send Modified Route button is greyed-out. For One-Time Voyage Plans, the Modified Route feature is always active. For the En-Voyage Service, the user can send a Modified Route Request up until 12 hours after the ETD that is set. Also, for each Voyage Plan Update received, the user can send a Modified Route for up to 12 hours respectively. 50 July 2022 Chartworld International MyRA 1.6: User Guide Figure 45 When the response to the requested route modification is received, that response is highlighted in the Inbox: When that response to the route-modification request arrives, Send Modified Route becomes available again in Selected Voyage Plan (in case another modification is required). Modified Route Accepted: Pull-Service Modified Now we have looked at a modification that is rejected as valid. Next we see what happens when MyRA accepts the proposed route modification as valid. Figure 46 If MyRA accepts your requested modification of the route as being valid, Figure 46 shows the prompt that appears on the screen when Voyage Plan is in view. Figure 47 July 2022 51 MyRA 1.6: User Guide ChartWorld International The next step (referred to above) is that a message in the Inbox confirms that the modified route was sent successfully. Voyage Plan Update Figure 48 A very short time later, the Inbox states that the updated voyage plan is ready. Click ‘SHOW’. Figure 49 The differences are: ‘Voyage Status’ indicates that this is a new version. The ETD and ETA correspond to the latest update. The upper of the two prompts on the right says ‘Show Latest Voyage Plan Update’ 52 July 2022 Chartworld International MyRA 1.6: User Guide Figure 50 If you click Show Latest Voyage Plan Update, the format is unchanged in the PDF update. Figure 51 When MyRA accepts a route modification as being valid, the Voyage Plan Dashboard shows the time of the latest modification (Figure 51) (and, if it differs from the previous one, a new estimated time of departure). No Second Order Confirmation Note: If a modified route is chosen, when you click to confirm that you want to use that route, that confirmation of acceptance of the route counts as the order confirmation for any additional nautical data that the modified route requires. ChartWorld provides no second order confirmation, separate to the original one. July 2022 53 MyRA 1.6: User Guide 5.2 ChartWorld International Related Data Figure 52 The Related Data tab contains the data related to the voyage plan, consisting of the following: Voyage-plan_proposal Voyage_plan Voyage-plan update CIO+ EMH delivery (this information relates to environmental standards). 54 July 2022 Chartworld International 6 How to Manage Data Exchange 6.1 Data Deliveries MyRA 1.6: User Guide (last symbol on Menu Bar, far left) Figure 53 Click the Data Deliveries icon on the Menu Bar (far left) to access all data received, such as Voyage Plans, weekly updates, and charts ordered. July 2022 55 MyRA 1.6: User Guide ChartWorld International Note: Export of chart data - a significant change. The new multiple Voyage Plan feature means that ENC deliveries are no longer only related to one single Voyage Plan. Instead, a data delivery is always valid for all Voyage Plans that are open when that delivery is sent. Therefore, data can be exported from the Data Deliveries section but no longer directly from the Voyage Plan (as was the case in the versions before Version 1.6). Yellow: If an item of data is yellow-highlighted in Data Deliveries (Figure 53), this means that it has not yet been downloaded. 56 July 2022 Chartworld International MyRA 1.6: User Guide Delivery Type The section called Data Deliveries consists of the following categories of Delivery Type (first column on the left): Chart Order Delivery VP (Voyage Plans); Weekly Updates (see below), Uncategorized Data Delivery and Missing data delivery. Any item highlighted in yellow shows that the user does not (yet) have that input. Weekly Update: calendar-week number, followed by the year, in two-digit format. Weekly Updates consist of ACES and AIO data in .zip format (only sent if the user has the appropriate licence). To make sure that your charts are up-to-date, you need all weekly updates since the last release of base data. Uncategorized Data Delivery: this consists of a PDF containing four weeks’ worth of information updates on ChartWorld products. The subject-matter is ChartWorld digital-product updates; eBook publications; ChartWorld Data Services; Admiralty publications; standards-compliance status for ChartWorld ECDIS; and Technical Books (IMO). Missing data delivery MyRA prompts an Inbox item if a data delivery is not part of the database but is listed in the license. Any such case is interpreted as being a missing data delivery. In such a case, MyRA offers to send a diagnostic file. 7Cs’ Back Office will analyse this diagnostic file and will automatically send out the missing data sets. Exchange Sets, Other Data Columns These columns of data are on the right of the Data Deliveries screen (Figure 53). Passage Plan (PP); Route Exchange sets (ExSet): July 2022 57 MyRA 1.6: User Guide ChartWorld International MyRA users receive data-exchange sets as single exchange sets, to minimise data-transfer costs. These sets serve as an ongoing (continuous) update and contain only the current week’s updates. Doing this keeps the file size relatively small. Make sure to properly save not only the charts/permit files ordered but also the ENC updates that you receive with the data sets. Within the software, MyRA is able to receive single exchange sets but make cumulative exchange sets out of them. Cumulative exchange sets enable you to activate all updates necessary since the last update of base-data, doing this in a process that requires one file. This is instead of activating the respective update file for each week, one-by-one. A data-exchange set is sent only if a required update has been created. If there is no update, you will not receive a data-exchange set. For instance, an exchange set can consist of the contents of an order for ACES data. The data received is unzipped; it states your user ID for external communication and the specific week when the data was sent. ENC permits (Permit): These can be exported in a full-export version or a strip-down export version. Full Permit: all permits of licensed ENCs will be downloaded. Strip-Down Permit: only permits relating to the current voyage will be downloaded. Note: Strip-Down Permits are only available for customers using the AVCS service. Other Products: on the far-right of Data Deliveries (see also Figure 53). Run the cursor over a yellow-highlighted area. The yellow-highlighting shows that you have not yet collected some data that is available. When the cursor is over that area, a small box states what the data that is not yet collected consists of. For instance, when the number given under Other Products is five, it means the following: an .xlsx file with a voyage plan; a .zip file containing T&P data; and three .grb2-type files, containing ENCs. This information is provided only to customers of the optimization service. It is the data used to show the wave height, wind speed and wind direction on the Chart Display. 58 July 2022 Chartworld International 6.2 MyRA 1.6: User Guide Exporting of Data Figure 54 Data Deliveries enables you to select an item and export it. Overview of Export-Data Sent All data that you receive, related to the current voyage plan, can be downloaded. That data includes Voyage Plan data, ENC Data deliveries, ENC updates, and (if you have a license for this) CIO+ data. Figure 55 shows an example of what is exported when you activate the Export command in Data Deliveries. Figure 55 6.3 Inventories The Inventories icon on the Menu Bar calls-up a list of inventory items. July 2022 59 MyRA 1.6: User Guide ChartWorld International ENCs Figure 56 Figure 56 shows a listing of all the ENCs held by a particular user. Using Export List, bottom-left, you can export a complete inventory list of the ENC data that you have received. The file will be exported as a .csv file and you can review it, using Excel. 60 July 2022 Chartworld International MyRA 1.6: User Guide IMO books Figure 57 Figure 57 shows an example of an inventory of IMO books available (if they are added to the licence). ENPGeo, Admiralty Publications, Other Data Figure 58 Apart from ENC data, other products that Inventories can show include Admiralty products, such as ADP and AENP (Figure 58): Sorting the Inventories items: You can click to sort the Inventories data according to various parameters among the nine parameters shown (from left to right: Cell Name through to the Licenced Until date), the entries are alphabetically sorted according to the Product Title. July 2022 61 MyRA 1.6: User Guide ChartWorld International Figure 59 6.4 Route Network Updates Route Network updates are sent once per month. This is done to keep both the processing and the supply of information on a manageable basis. The two sources for getting the updates are the eChart DVD and ChartWorld’s FTP site respectively. If the DVD is used, supply can be planned so that, on an agreed date, the DVD is sent to be collected at an agreed port which the vessel using the data is scheduled to visit. In addition, after a new Route Network is set-up in the ECDIS, a restart of MyRA is necessary. Please also be aware that the Route Network requires a couple of minutes for the initialization. When you can see the date of creation of the new Route Network in the About window, this means that the Route Network is initialised successfully. 6.5 Electronic Notices to Mariners (eNtMs) Electronic Notices for Mariners (eNtMs) take the form of PDF documents. They are delivered onboard weekly, and always provide full coverage, no matter what the places of departure and destination for the current voyage are. The eNtM PDF documents can be exported from MyRA software and printed-out. The eNtM service allows users to receive Notices for Mariners from the following countries: UK (with global coverage), Australia, Argentina, Chile, China, Denmark, India, Japan, Korea, Mexico, New Zealand, Norway, and the USA. The eNtM+ service, delivered weekly, includes global coverage of NAVAREA warnings. The warnings from NAVAREA coordinators are provided in the form of text files. These files can be received by MyRA and then exported for use by other software. 62 July 2022 Chartworld International 6.6 MyRA 1.6: User Guide MyRADiagnostic.exe File The MyRADiagnostic.exe file is available as an independent executable file on the eChart DVD. The file can be executed after it has been unzipped. Alternatively, this file is installed together with the set-up. It is found here: C:\Program Files\ChartWorld\MyRA Ship Server\bin However, if any significant issue is detected, the recommendation is to use this executable to collect all relevant log files. In such a situation, please be sure to send to ChartWorld the log files created: support@chartworld.com. Please also include a screenshot-based description of the issue that you have. July 2022 63
