The basic parts of a short story:
Characters: Who is the story about? A character can be a person, animal, or even an object.
Setting: Where and when does the story happen? (e.g., a park, a school, at night)
Plot: What happens in the story? It’s a series of events or actions.
Problem (Conflict): What problem does the character face? (e.g., getting lost, missing a bus,
needing to solve a puzzle)
Solution (Ending): How is the problem solved? What happens at the end of the story
The basic story structure:
Beginning: Introduce the character and the setting.
Middle: Present the problem the character faces.
End: Show how the character solves the problem or what happens at the end.
EXAMPLE:
Beginning: "Tom was a boy who loved playing soccer. One day, he lost his favorite soccer
ball."
Middle: "Tom looked everywhere for the ball. He asked his friends, but nobody saw it."
End: "At last, Tom found the ball under a tree. He was so happy he could play again."
