IMPACT OF MODERNIZATION ON TEENAGERS
Introduction:
Modernization through technology and industrialization has become a vital part of our
lives, modifying the ways to learn, communicate and entertain ourselves for our benefits. From
smartphones to large screens, we are surrounded by industrialization from all the sides. However,
it has immense significance but with understanding of the impact of its limitations on us is very
crucial. This research emphasizes the significance of the technology on our lives, its limitations
and the research reliability regarding the concerned topic (Panahi, 2015).
Objectives:
1. To highlight the pros and cons of modernization and industrialization in specific
sociocultural frameworks.
2. To investigate the chasms exacerbated by modernization between the various generations.
3. To examine the multi-dimensional impacts on the personal, social and educational lives of
teenagers.
Limitations:
Modernization brings numerous advantages, but it also poses significant challenges for
today's youth. Increased reliance on technology can lead to reduced face-to-face interactions and
weakened social skills, making it harder for young people to navigate real-world relationships.
The pressure to conform to digital norms and the pervasive nature of social media can contribute
to issues like anxiety, depression, and a distorted self-image. Moreover, the rapid pace of
technological change can create a skills gap, leaving some young people ill-prepared for the future
workforce. Educational disparities and unequal access to resources can further widen the socioeconomic divide among youth. (Dienlin T, 2020)
Questions:
1. What are the specific impacts of modernization on the behaviors, attitudes, and lifestyles of
the youth, and why are they so much critical to study?
2. How has the availability of advanced technological devices influenced the behaviors and
cognitive patterns of the younger generation?
3. What are the underlying factors contributing to the rising dependency on modern
technological devices among youth?
4. In what ways has excessive internet usage impaired teenagers’ interpersonal
communication skills, and how can these impacts be minimized?
Research method:
The research is based on a qualitative approach, analyzing the information provided by
reliable articles. This method allows for the deep understanding of the aspects of how
technology affects our everyday life. Case studies of examples and evidence quoted in the
articles to emphasize the technology impacts. (Panahi, 2015)
Data collection method:
Data was gathered through secondary sources like research papers and articles, including
the surveys and real world examples of the observed impacts of technology on a society and its
backbone-youth with diverse backgrounds to understand their experiences with the technology.
This approach ensures a wider perspective of the topic, capturing insights from the experts and
daily life users of the advanced technologies. (Dienlin T, 2020)
Research reliability:
To ensure the credibility of this research papers, unbiased, credible and verified sources
were used to gather data. This approach further strengthens the credibility of the research, while
providing a balanced and an accurate information for understanding the role of technology in
the routine life. (Panahi, 2015)
