Term 3 Project Student: Hana Elgammal Class: 7A Topic: creating a cube and cuboid using recycled materials What is Volume? Every three-dimensional object occupies some space. This space is measured in terms of its volume. Volume is defined as the space occupied within the boundaries of an object in three-dimensional space. It is also known as the capacity of the object. Formula Of Volume of Cube and Cuboid • Volume of cube= side length×side length×side length Or Side length×3 • Volume of cuboid=L × B × H What is Surface Area? The surface area of a solid object is a measure of the total area that the surface of the object occupies. Surface Area of Cube and Cuboid • Surface Area of Cube= area of one face × 6 • Surface Area of Cuboid=2lw + 2lh +2hw Or 2(lw+ lh+ wh) Volume and Surface Area of my Cuboid Cuboid L× W ×H Length= 29cm Width=10.5cm Height=20 cm 29×10.5×20= 6090 2(lw+lh+wh) 29 ×10.5=304.5 29×20=580 20×10.5=210 304.5+580+210= 1094.5×2=2189 6090cm³ 2189cm2 Volume and Surface Area of my cube cube S×S×S Side length=6cm 6× 6×6= 216cm³ 216cm³ Area of one face ×6 216 cm2 36 × 6 Pictures of my Cube and Cuboid
