Refer G.T. Report No.: PAECS/REP/010.19/07/2021 GI/2021-2022/10 DESIGN LOADS The design and construction of the structural works are based on the following loads. Dead Loads Self-weight of the structural components: the self-weight is determined based on a concrete weight of 25kN/m3. Tank full Condition: Water Pressure is applied on the RCC walls and bottom slab of tank considering the tank is full. Density of water assumed as 10kN/m3. Live Loads Live Loads as per relevant IS codes are applied on slabs and other staircase members. Wind Loads Wind Loads are applied on the Elevated Service Reservoir structure as per IS 875-2015(Part 3), the design parameters considered are as per Appendix -A Earthquake Loads The seismic design parameters for structural analysis of ESR were taken from IS 1893-2014(Part 2). The parameters are as follows: Seismic zone = III Zone Factor = 0.16 Response Redcution Factor = 5 Importance Factor = 1.5 Soil Site Factor = Medium Stiff Soil. Earthquake Loading is applied in X, Y & Z directions on water tank in the form of convective hydrostatic pressure, Impulsive Hydrostatic pressure,Vertical ground acceleration and Sloshing height effect as per Appendix- B. Raft slab Loading Seperate STAAD plate model is generated for design of Raft foundation. Maximum vertical reactions of each column from STAAD analysis of ESR is applied at a particular locations on the Plate.
