A member of the Committee for evaluation of the Research Projects for the State Planning Board,

Was a member of the Advisory Committee for Open School System of Punjab School Education
Board, Chandigarh in 2003 and delivered a lecture in a workshop on Open Schooling System
organised by Punjab School Education Board on January 28, 2004 at Gurdaspur.

Was a member of the State Level Committee appointed by the Hon’ble Governor, Punjab, set
up to prepare a Report on “Higher Education in Punjab: Vision 2020” submitted in April 2005.

Member Core Committee for framing the Punjab Education Policy: 2025 constituted by Punjab
Advisory Board, Government of Punjab, Chandigarh. The first draft of the policy on ‘Higher
Education’ and ‘School Education’ was submitted to the Hon’ble Education Minister, Punjab on
25.10.2011.

Appointed Member of the Skill Development Cell, Planning Department, Government of


Prepared as member coordinator of the committee for Drafting of Regulations (Statutes,
Ordinances, Bye-Laws, Sub-regulations etc) of the Maharaja Ranjit Singh State Technical
University, Bathinda & IK Gujaral Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar.

Member State Level Bankers Committee (Punjab): 2013-2022. The State Level Bankers’
Committee (SLBC) is the apex bankers’ body at the state level with members from the Reserve
Bank of India, NABARD, banks and other financial institutions, important government departments
etc and is chaired by the Principal Finance Secretary of the state. This body corresponds with the
Reserve Bank of India and regularly supervises banking developments in the state.
18. Consultancy Services:
 Served as a member of the Expert Review Committee to undertake the review of the “Impact
Assessment of Last Five Years of Support of Sir Rattan Tata Trust (SRTT) to the Punjab
Agricultural University, Ludhiana” (amounting to more than Rs. 9 crore) during December
10-17, 2008 and submitted the Draft Report on December 17, 2008 and the Final Report on
February 2, 2009.
 Provided consultancy to Society of Development Alternatives, New Delhi for review of ‘Policy
Paper on Farmer Producer Organizations in India’, prepared by the sponsor under a programme
entitled ‘Transforming the Development the Paradigm’ in collaboration with Heinrich Boll
Stiftung (HBF), Germany on January 2018.

19. Academic Contributions at Departmental Level:

Introduced Vocationalization (Career Orientation) of Education at the First Degree level in the
Department and obtained a grant of Rs. 7.25 Lac from the U.G.C. for the year 1999-2000.

As Head of the Department, designed and introduced Master of Business Economics (MBE)-a
professional course-in Punjab School of Economics by involving the Faculty of Economics and
Business.

As Dean of the Faculty, introduced Computer as a qualifying paper in B.Com and also introduced
B.Com. (Professional) in the University.

Prepared a manuscript ‘Strengths and Weaknesses of the Department’ for submission to the UGC
Visiting Team for the XIth Plan.


Prepared single handed the Self-Assessment report for the UGC-Academic Staff College, Guru
Nanak Dev University, Amritsar submitted in December, 2011 to National Assessment and
Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bangalore. NAAC accredited the Academic Staff college at
Rank 12 across India and accredited it as ‘Performing’ against Panjab University’s at 52 and
Punjabi University’s at 58 (both Non-Performing). Special Performance based grant
(infrastructural etc) accordingly was provided to the Staff College and also upgraded to the
next level making it eligible for more grants.
