features, making comparisons where relevant. You should write at least 150 words .
The given line chart illustrates the demand of visitors accessing to two different music websites Music
Choice and Pop Parade over a course of 15 days. It is obvious that Pop Parade was more attractive than
Music Choice sites and both two websites witnessed a dramatic rise in the number of visitors.
In the first day, Music Choice web started with 40.000 visitors, which was one third of the number of Pop
Parade’s users. The next four days saw a significant fluctuate in the figure of Music Choice usage,
between 20.000 and 60.000 visitors before remaining unchanged in the seventh day. Meanwhile, the
number of users in Pop Parade decreased marginally to 100.000 in day four and then drop by
approximately 70.000 in day seven.
During the next two days, both the figure of Music choice and Pop Parade website’s users stayed intact
at 20,000 and 40.000 respectively. While Music Choice site was not seen any changes in the number of
visitors, there was a sharp growth of 100.000 in Pop Parade’s users. Between day 11 and day 15, there
were two opposite fluctuating trends in the figure of two website’s visitors before that of Pop Parade
reached a peak of 170,000 in the last day and the number of Music choice’s users troughed at over

Task 2: You should spend about 40 minutes on this task The use of social media is replacing face-toface interaction among many people in society. Do you think the advantages outweigh the
disadvantages? You should write at least 250 words
In this day and age, social media and modern technologies are dominating our world. Therefore, the
presence of networking sites as an alternative for conventional meetings is a topic of public interest.
From my perspective, the benefits of social media relacing direct interaction are far more outweigh than
its drawbacks.
There are admittedly a host of advantageous facets which explain the reason why web-based platforms
are prevalent in our modern society. First, virtual conferences could save up both time and budget
comparing to traditional interaction. Given the costs of electricity taxes and other facilities fees used for
holding a direct meeting are more and more expensive, online connection seems as an economical
solution. Additionally, it is more flexible and convenient to carry out a conference on the Internet. Not
only is the geographical boundaries erased, but also the time spent for commuting is also reduced
significantly, as a result, more effective quality of study and work will be guaranteed. Taking most of
prestigious universities over the world to exemplify, they provide international students with a number
of online courses, which is conducive to those who live far from their dream colleges but still want to
pursue their curriculum.
However, those who disagree with the use of social media in carrying out meetings also have their own
reasonable justifications. It is apparent that the adverse impacts of social networking sites on people’s
communicative skills are serious matters. As people spend too many hours gluing their eyes to
computers’ screen and immersing themselves into virtual world, they are likely to get addicted and fail to
improve their social interactive skills. What is more dangerous, since they do not have enough time for
outdoor activities, they could suffer from a great deal of diseases related to their sedentary lifestyle and
mental well-being.
In conclusion, although there are many persuasive reasons for not using social media in people’s
interaction, I still contend that the benefits of Internet-base websites are more evident when we take
advantage of it judiciously.
