WHAT IS BLOOD ?
Blood consist mainly
of plasma, Red blood
cell and White blood
cell.
Blood is the fluid which
transports oxygen and
nutrients to the cells
and carries away
carbon dioxide and
other waste products.
Blood
Red blood cell
They are also known as
Erythrocytes.
They have red liquid called
Haemoglobin .
They are made with no nucleus or
mitochondria so that they have more
room for Haemoglobin .
Their job is to carry oxygen from the
lungs and deliver it throughout the
Body.
White blood cell
Their job is to kill (“Pathogens”)
Pathogens are are bacterias and
viruses .
They have a special type of liquid
inside of them which are called
antibodies .
They have nucleus but no
mitochondria.
RED BLOOD CELLS
Red Blood cells are known as Erythrocytes. They have red liquid called Haemoglobin
. They are made with no nucleus or mitochondria so that they have more room for
Haemoglobin and if they had mitochondria the oxygen in the red blood cell would get
respired by the mitochondria . Their job is to carry oxygen from the lungs and deliver
it throughout the Body. Haemoglobin is the protein in red blood cells which carries
oxygen throughout the body .
HOW RED BLOOD CELL ARE OXYGENATED?
When we breathe in and all
the air goes from the windpipe
to The bronchiole which goes
to the bronchus where it
reaches the Air sac / Alveoli .
The air inside the Air Sac is
use for diffusion of Carbon
Dioxide and diffusion of
Oxygen which then goes to
the heart to spread the
oxygenated blood around
our body .
The blood then goes to the
heart where it is pumped
throughout the body and the
Carbon dioxide is exhaled.
HOW AND WHY OXYGENATED BLOOD IS
SPREAD THROUGHOUT OUR BODY?
Red blood cells are spread
throughout our body with
the help of the Heart which
pumps blood all over the
body.
The heart pumps blood all
around our body so the red
blood cells reach tissues that
which need oxygen, the
oxygen is released from the
haemoglobin and diffuses into
the cells where it is used to
make energy
Mitochondria respire if red
blood cells had mitochondria
would use up all the energy
created by the hemoglobin.
WHITE BLOOD CELL
Their job is to kill (“Pathogens”) Pathogens
are are bacterias and viruses . They have a
special type of liquid / chemical inside of
them which are called antibodies .They have
nucleus but no mitochondria.
Some kind of antibodies
stick many pathogens
so that other white
blood cells can use
there antibodies which
are inside them to kill the
pathogens.Those
antibodies are (Y)shape.
The other types of antibodies which are inside
them to kill the pathogens. They push their
Cytoplasm to slowly and slowly capture the
pathogens to kill those pathogens inside them.
Q/A
● What Does blood consist of ?
Ans: Blood consist mainly of plasma, Red blood cell and
White blood cell.
● What are the two ways which antibodies can use to
destroy kill pathogens?
Ans: The two ways are:
1)Some kind of antibodies stick many pathogens which are (Y) shape , so that
other white blood cells can use there antibodies which are inside them to kill the
pathogens.
2) While the other use there antibodies which are inside them to kill the
pathogens. They push their Cytoplasm to slowly and slowly capture the
pathogens to kill those pathogens inside them.
● What are pathogens ?
Ans: Pathogens are bacteria, virus, or other microorganism
that can cause disease.
