Using the Dictionary
A. Guide Word: a word printed at the top page of a dictionary to show the first or last
word on that page.
B. Entry Word: a word that is the subject for the entry in the dictionary.
C. Pronunciation: how to pronounce the word.
D. Part of speech: a category to which the word is assigned (noun, verb, adjective,
adverb, etc.).
E. Definition: what the word means.
F. Alternate Definition: another definition for the word.
