3.1.Inspection for Severe Corrosion
- Inspect the threaded rods and runner for any
signs of deep pitting or extensive corrosion. If the
rods are severely compromised, they will need to
be replaced with new threaded rods.

3.2. Surface Cleaning and Preparation
- Use a steel brush to remove loose rust and
scale from the threaded rods and runners. Scrub
vigorously along the entire length of the rod,
ensuring all the rust is brushed away
- For hard-to-reach areas or more stubborn
corrosion, use sandpaper (medium grit) to lightly
sand the surface, ensuring that the majority of the
corrosion is removed.

3.3. Clean the Threaded Rods
- After removing rust, apply paint thinner to
remove any oils, grease, or remaining debris on
the rods. Use a clean cloth soaked in paint
thinner and wipe down the entire length of the
threaded rods.
- Ensure that no grease, oil, or other residues are
left, as they will hinder the adhesion of the primer
and paint.

3.4. Application of Paint
- Apply a coat of Chugoku Epicon Zinc Rich
Primer B-2. The primer will provide excellent
corrosion resistance and protect the steel from
future rusting.
- Use a paint roller or brush to apply the primer
evenly along the entire length of the rods. Ensure
the coating is uniform, with no missed areas.
- Apply the primer in two coats for optimal
protection. Allow the first coat to dry completely
before applying the second coat (typically, allow
30 minutes to 1 hour drying time between coats).
