Projection forecasted that by 2030, global solid waste production will rise to exceed 2.2 billion tons annually compared to the current rate. Growing concern on solid waste reduction and waste management translated into one of Sustainable Development Goals target 12.5 that by 2030, substantially reduce waste generation though prevention, reduction, recycling, and reuse. Nowadays, most companies have targets to reduce its solid waste generation. The technical and scientific development related to solid waste management has led industrial to look at waste as alternative source of energy. The concept of waste-toenergy is based on chemically treating solid waste to generate energy. Nowadays, waste is the third growing renewable energy source worldwide, after solar and wind. Aligned with biomass energy, waste made a contribution to absolute majority of the renewable energy used in the world.
