This year's festival, held on February 6, 2025, was marked by a colorful array of performances, showcasing the town's spirit and heritage. The 2025 Sarok Festival kicked off with an impressive grand parade and street dance competition. The street dancing competition was more than just a display of artistry— it was a celebration of Consolacion’s agricultural heritage. Our learners told the story of the town’s history and the hardworking people who rely on farming for their livelihood. The lively performances filled the streets, with locals and visitors cheering and applauding our dancers, making the event an unforgettable spectacle for our learners. Tugbongan Elementary School’s participation in the festival was an exceptional one, reflecting the dedication, talent, and teamwork of its students, faculty, and staff. The school's contingent displayed a captivating performance that encapsulated the heart of Consolacion's culture. Their entry was built around a beautifully choreographed routine that fused traditional dances with contemporary musical beats, providing an exciting twist to the annual celebration. The grand parade and street dance completion was concluded at around 4:16 in the afternoon where all the participants soaked in the rain. Nonetheless, our dancers wear their smiles showing the satisfaction of their street dancing competition performance. The performers are given ample time to rest before the grand showdown competition will start which is scheduled 6:00PM. Due to the bad weather condition, we are advised to stay at the RTC gym while waiting for the program to start. The performers are indeed happy since the snacks and dinner were delivered and served on time. Sumptuous meals were provided to the performers to ensure their energy level is high. The assigned teachers to look over the dancers keep their eyes to them to keep them safe. Teachers assigned to look after the props are seen on the street along with their assigned props. These teachers devote their time and energy in looking after the props and props men even if the rain never stops. When the ritual showdown competition is about to start, the performers, teachers and choreographers gathered to offer prayer for the success of the performance and most importantly, the safety of everyone involved. The students, donned in bright and creative costumes, embodied the essence of the Sarok Festival. Their vibrant attire, inspired by local imagery and traditional symbols, added color and flair to their performance, truly highlighting their artistic skills. Their costumes, which were carefully crafted with intricate designs, conveyed the rich cultural history of the town, and were instrumental in their Best in Costume award. The festival also saw Tugbongan Elementary School excel in musicality, receiving the Best in Musicality award for their carefully synchronized performance. Tugbongan Elementary School also garnered recognition in the Best in Audio Van, Third Placer, receiving accolades for the exceptional Mexican vibe design of the audio van used during their performance. The van was design by our talented teachers headed by Master Teacher 1 Anita A. Heyrosa. The crisp audio that accompanied their lively routine contributed to the dynamic atmosphere, making their presentation even more captivating for the audience and the judges. Perhaps one of the most memorable moments for the Tugbongan contingent was their victory in the 2nd Place in Ritual Showdown under the elementary category. Their dedication to presenting a well-executed, ritualistic performance that honored the town's heritage was met with great admiration. The rhythm of their movements, coupled with their expressive rituals, earned them a standing ovation from the audience, solidifying their position as one of the top contenders in the competition.
