Speech for my speaking’ exam: The weather and its impact on my life Good evening teacher and classmates. Today I am going to talk about something that affects us all and that, however, remains very unpredictable: the weather. Let me start with my favorite type of weather. I love sunny days with a gentle breeze. They fill me with energy and positivity, making everything seem a little brighter. On the other hand, my least favorite weather is when it's incredibly humid, it's sticky, uncomfortable and exhausting. The weather has a profound effect on my mood. On rainy days, I tend to feel reflective, maybe even melancholic, but sunny days always bring out the best in me. I think this connection between the weather and my emotions is something that I experience many times in my life. In my country, people often complain about the weather, especially when it is too hot or too rainy. Summers can be unbearable, with intense heat waves that make it difficult to even go outside. Rainy days, on the other hand, bring complaints of flooding and disturbances. Speaking of change, climate change has certainly had an impact. In recent years, I have seen more extreme weather events: heavy rain, longer heat waves, and unpredictable seasons. It's a worrying sign of how our world is changing. Personally, I try to remain optimistic. I believe we can make a difference if we act now, but the challenge is enormous. Now, let me share some personal experiences about extreme weather. ● I was once in a place where it rained non-stop for days. At first, the sound of rain was reassuring, but the flooding that followed was quite alarming. ● On another occasion, I witnessed a flood in my city. Watching the water rise and disrupt people's lives was heartbreaking. ● I've also been in very windy conditions where even walking seemed like a challenge. ● On one trip it was extremely cold, I could feel the cold in my bones and no layer seemed enough. ● I remember one morning so foggy that driving felt like sailing through a cloud and visibility was almost zero. ● And, of course, who hasn't experienced a terrible heat wave? These are those days when the sun seems relentless and every movement seems like a heavy task. ● Finally, I have already been surprised by a thunderstorm. There is something exhilarating and terrifying at the same time about being under a sky lit by lightning and with the rain falling as if the heavens had opened. These experiences remind me how powerful and unpredictable nature can be. They have also taught me to appreciate moments of calm and to respect the environment in which we live.
