I. OBJECTIVES
By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to:
Language knowledge & - Identify and learn 5 words related to special days (belt,
scarf, sweater, pajamas, skiing)

- Correctly ask and answer questions by using the
phrases:
“Is that your____? – Yes, it is./No, it isn’t.
Are those your ___? – Yes, they are./No, they aren’t.”

Warm-up and Review (6 minutes) – Game: Slap the board
a. Aim(s)
- To review vocabulary related to clothes
engagingly and competitively.
- To practice spelling and teamwork.
- To encourage students to work together to
complete the game.
- Generate students’ interests, and lead in the new
lesson.

Step 1: Greeting, Song: What are you wearing?
Step 2: Review vocabulary: skirt, jacket, jeans,
boots, T-shirt
Step 3: Play the game Slap the board
- Divide the class into 2 teams, make 2 lines.
- Place the flashcards about clothes they have
learned on the lesson before (skirt, jacket, jeans,
boots, T-shirt) on the board, showing the images.
- Call out a word and have the first student from
each group race to slap the correct image on the
board and say it correctly.
- The first student to slap the correct flashcard
wins a point for their team.
Step 4: Give praise, reward and comment.

Activity 1: Listen and point. Repeat. (7 minutes)
a. Aim(s) - - To help students identify and pronounce the
vocabulary about clothes (belt, scarf, sweater,
pajamas, skiing)

Flashcards about the five vocabulary words.

- Introduce the topic: "Today, we will learn some
more words about clothes!"
- Ask students: "What are you wearing today?"
- Show the pictures on the slide and let students
guess the words.
Step 2:
- Show pictures (belt, scarf, sweater, pajamas) on
the slide.
- Have students pay attention and listen carefully.
- Say the word clearly and have students repeat it.
- Skiing: Ask students: What kind of sport is this?
and the Vietnamese meaning.
Step 4:
- Explain that "pajamas" is a plural noun.

- Emphasize that "belt, scarf, sweater" are singular
nouns.
Step 3:
- Repeat as a whole class => 2 groups and then call
on individuals. Ask students the Vietnamese
meaning of each word.
- Have students work in pairs, one student says the
word and the other points to the right picture, then
changes the role.
- Go around class and correct them if they have any
mistakes.
Activity 2: Check vocabulary - Play the Pretend game (5 minutes)

Help students practice recognizing and naming
clothing items through an interactive guessing game.

d. Teaching Step 1: Explain the rules:

 Tell students that one person will pretend to

wear or use an item of clothing.
 The others will guess what the item is by
saying its name.
Step 2: Choose a student:
 Pick a student to come to the front of the class.
 This student will be the "pretender."
Step 3: Pretend action:

The "pretender" should act as if they are
putting on or using a piece of clothing (e.g.,
pretending to tie a belt, wear a scarf, etc).
 They cannot say the name of the item.
Step 4: Guessing time:
 Other students take turns guessing what the
item is by saying its name aloud.
 The "pretender" responds with “Yes” if correct
or “No” if incorrect.
 When a student guesses correctly, they take
the next turn as the "pretender."

Activity 3: Listen and practice (10 minutes)

- To help students talk about the clothes using
structure:
A: Is that your____?
B: Yes, it is./No, it isn’t.
A: Are those your ___?
B: Yes, they are./No, they aren’t.
- To help pupils practice asking and answering
questions about clothes accurately.

many kind of clothes with 2 characters Nick
and Mai.
- “Look at the picture, this is Mai’s room. This
is Mai’s wardrobe.”
 Ask students to guess what does Nick say, and
what is Mai’s answer.
“What does Nick ask Mai?”
“What is Mai’s answer?’'
2. Introduce the structure
- Show the structure on the slide:


Is that your ___? → Yes, it is./No, it isn’t.
Are those your ___? → Yes, they are./No, they
aren’t.
- Turn on the audio, the teacher says and students
repeat sentence by sentence.
*Usage:
- Explain that "pajamas" is a plural noun, so we use
"Are those...?"
- Emphasize that "belt, scarf, sweater" are singular
nouns, so we use "Is that...?
*Teacher explains the structure Vietnamese:
- Khi hỏi về đồ vật số ít, ta sử dụng mẫu câu:
Is that your ___? Nếu đúng trả lời Yes, it is. Nếu sai
trả lời No, it isn’t.
*Dịch mẫu câu sang tiếng Việt.
- Khi hỏi về đồ vật số nhiều, ta sử dụng mẫu câu:

students to ask and answer using structure they have
learned.
Step 2: Show the activity on TV, invite students to
complete the task:
+ Point to the first image (sweater) and read the
sentence:
 Is that your sweater?
+ Ask students to answer:
 Yes, it is.
+ Point to the second image (pajamas) and read:
 Are those your pajamas?
+ Ask students to answer:
 No, they aren’t.
Step 3: Invite some pairs to practice.
Step 4: Ask students to write the answer in the book
at home.
Production - Game: Choose your clothes!
Prepare some clothing flashcards in two colors: pink
and blue, and stick them on the board.
Divide the class into two teams. Groups 1 and 2 will
be the blue team (answering "Yes"), while groups 3
and 4 will be the green team (answering "No").
Ask a representative from each team to come up,
choose an item, and ask a question.
If they pick a blue item, they must answer "Yes"; if
they pick a green one, they must answer "No.

pictures and sentence patterns:
