Capcut, An editing platform that shocked the world. During 2020 it was gaining millions of users
daily. But now its loosing users at an alarming rate.
Why was it so popular in the first place?
Why did it start loosing users?
Is there hope for a comeback?
All these questions will be answered. With out a futher ado lets begin.
So capcut was published in 2019 in China By ByteDance who is the same company who owns Tiktok.
Then in April 2020 it was published Globally.
There are _ reasons for the success.
1. TIMING
During 2020 the world faced a pandecmic. A virus called covid was rapidly spreading. It was deadly
and took hundreds of millions of lives. Everybody was stuck at home. So it was the perfect timing for
people to start making content. And luckily for capcut it was publisherd the same year so attracted a
lot of traction and users. This was the perfect opportunity for the app to succeed.

Most editing apps are expensive and costs a fortune. For instance,

With all this success comes greed…
Capcut introduced CAPCUT PRO around late 2023,
At first only a few features were pro but now basically everything is PRO

Barely anything free nowadays.,
The cherry on top is the (dolphin) trademark. OH COME ON!
Before the trade mark was removable at the end of a video but now it’s a pro feature just to remove
it from the real video. AUGH!
But I believe that capcut can comeback.
Capcut can make Capcut Pro a separate app so free users can use the free options without
the hastle of going through hundreds of pro features. Then reduce the amount of free options.
Just sliding left is PRO!?
And a circle sticker is PRO!
It is just outrages!
Moreover, its not cheap in where I live, Malaysia it is 279.90 RINGGIT per year.
In the US its $89.99 per year.
If it reduces the price just slightly it can attract more users.
