This IMS gives an idea of the required tasks to finish the design stage of the N211-040 SBIR in a
one-year time frame. The greatest risk tasks are the design iteration tasks as they have the highest
likelihood of not being what the client is asking for. Checking in every two months restricts the
amount of time we must stray from what the client is imagining; however, it is long enough for a
significant amount of time and resources to be wrongly placed in an idea that the client
ultimately disagrees with. This is why good communication is critical for this project in order to
ensure that resources are not wasted at any point in the process. The design iteration tasks also
have dependencies and cannot begin until all project kickoff tasks are completed. Each design
iteration requires enough budget and resources to refine from the previous design. It is also
required that a member of Team Subs must travel to the client in order to complete all review
meetings, iterations, and presentations. Overall if all of these tasks can be completed on time and
within the requirements of the client, the project will be completed in a smooth and efficient
manner.
