Steps of writing a Synthesis Essay

large topic is impossible, so picking a specific, focused topic is important. For example, the
broad topic of climate change would need to be narrowed down to something more specific,

Thesis statement is the central argument of your essay. It is the conclusion you make after
reading various texts. A good thesis statement generates interest in the topic and makes the
reader want to continue reading. Your thesis can make a claim, analyze an issue or explain a
topic.
4. Create an Outline: Map out the rough structure of your essay in an outline. This makes it
easier to start writing and keeps you on track as you go.
5. Draft Your Essay:
