REFLECTION ON SCC CORE VALUES
The experience I had coinciding with the Core Values of “Wisdom” is every time I step
foot in the classroom where I would hear teachers and students talking about academic related
conversations. In where lots of points and takes are being present by different individuals
showing me the essence of wisdom. Most definitely these are present in the classroom, but in in
SCC wisdom doesn’t stop there as its presence can be also be witnessed in extracurricular
activities, where I fist handedly myself experience it in the school’s tradition of holy mass before
any major events occur and as well every Friday, where I felt the essence of the wisdom through
the gospel of the God. Wisdom at it’s core can be witnessed every where but it’s major essence
can be felt in school institution, much more it is when the school itself values wisdom in which
SCC is one of those schools.
Another Core Values is with “Justice”, the very concept of justice is hard to explain
further, but basically in my understanding it is all about being fair and giving the right judgement
in different circumstances. Now, in SCC I felt the justice that the school preaches about in the
school system itself, where students can act the way they are in a manner where justice towards
rightfulness of every students image are presented. Evidences of justice’s presence in the school
are the guidance counselor, where act as a rightful person to act towards certain anomalies in the
school regarding the students. It can also be seen in the school security guards where they act as
orders, to teach student what is the proper school dress code, manage the students during the
waiting of the school bus, as whenever this happens there seem to be some of kind of ruckus, but
as for the security guards these events will not likely occur, this proves as a basis of the core
values of “justice” in SCC.
The word “Charity” seem to be not a value worthy factor for a school as this value is
often seen in organizations that are not usually associated with schools, but for SCC they break
the stereotypes of school not pursuing charity in their core values. Charity in this institution can
be heavily seen towards it’s helpfulness in giving people that are incapable of getting the things
they cannot afford. SCC as an institution helps the needy people, where I witnessed it in some
students, where the school itself provides them a scholarship as they cannot get the tuition fee
needed for school. The very essence of charity is sparking in this institution that started within
the students but that’s not all, SCC also helps people those in mountainous remote areas where
they cannot afford to experience of luxury of proper living, the organization provides them with
what their needs. SCC not only helps them, but other more people that are very much in need.
