Virtual doctor-patient interactions overall more than doubled from 17% before the initiative to
38% after the initiative. Our appointments are roughly half primary care and half specialty care.
In primary care virtual encounters more than doubled and now account for almost half of all
primary care sessions. In specialty care virtual interactions started from a lower base but also
more than doubled to now make up more than a quarter of all specialty care appointments.
My chart choice:
I considered bar charts or slope graphs here. I ultimately decided to use a bar chart which
allowed me to include the part of the whole (virtual vs in-person). To better show what
happened for the two individual care types I reset the 100% for each primary and specialty
care. Since it was most important to demonstrate the success of the program I drew attention
to the virtual care numbers only.
