D. Activity Proper
Procedure:
1. Introduction (5 minutes): Briefly review the importance of student
engagement and the role of technology in education.
2. Categorization (15 minutes): Divide participants into small groups.
Assign each group a set of technology tools from the article (or allow
them to choose). Have them categorize the tools (e.g., Gamification,
Collaboration, Assessment) and discuss the key features and potential
uses of each tool within their assigned categories.
3. Sharing and Discussion (15 minutes): Each group shares their
categorized tools and discusses their findings with the larger group.
Facilitate a discussion about the advantages and disadvantages of
different tools, as well as best practices for implementation.
4. Reflection (10 minutes): Participants engage in both group and
individual reflection using the questions below.
E. Activity Reflection
Group Reflection:
1. What are the key categories of technology tools that can be used to
Individual Reflection:
enhance student engagement?
2. What are some specific examples of tools within each category, and
how can they be used effectively?
3. What are the potential benefits and challenges of integrating
technology into the classroom?
4. How can teachers ensure that technology is used purposefully and
effectively to support learning objectives?
5. What are some strategies for addressing issues of access and equity
when using technology in education?
1. Which technology tools are you most interested in exploring further?
2. How do you envision using these tools in your own teaching practice?
3. What are some potential challenges you might face when
implementing these tools, and how can you overcome them?
4. What professional development opportunities would be helpful for
learning more about these tools?
5. How can you assess the effectiveness of technology integration in
your classroom?

H. Activity Proper
Procedure:
Individual/Pair Work (20 minutes): Participants individually or in pairs
develop a mini-lesson plan or activity that integrates at least one
technology tool discussed during the main activity. They should clearly
outline the learning objectives, the chosen technology tool(s), the steps
of the activity, and how the tool(s) will be used to enhance student
engagement and learning.
Sharing and Feedback (10 minutes): Participants briefly share their
mini-lesson plans or activities with the larger group and receive
feedback.
I. Activity Evaluation
Method:

Feasibility of implementation, assessment strategies-20%
J. Instructor’s Reflection
Reflection:
After engaging in the activity exploring technology tools for student
engagement, I found the breadth of available resources to be both
exciting and slightly overwhelming. The categorization exercise was
particularly helpful in organizing the tools and understanding their
potential applications. It became clear that effective technology
integration isn't just about using the latest gadget; it's about carefully
selecting tools that align with specific learning objectives and address the
diverse needs of students. I was especially drawn to the gamification
tools like Kahoot! and Gimkit, as they offer a fun and interactive way to
reinforce learning. However, I also recognize the importance of balancing
these engaging tools with opportunities for deeper learning and critical
thinking.
Remarks/
Comments/
Suggestion:
This activity provided a valuable overview of the diverse landscape of
educational technology tools. Moving forward, I would suggest incorporating
more hands-on practice with the tools themselves. Perhaps a short "sandbox"
time where teachers can experiment with creating a Kahoot! quiz, setting up a
Padlet board, or exploring the features of a virtual reality app would be
beneficial. Additionally, I think it would be helpful to delve deeper into the
pedagogical considerations of technology integration. Discussions around
digital citizenship, responsible online behavior, and strategies for managing
screen time would be essential. Sharing specific examples of how teachers have
successfully used these tools in their classrooms, including addressing common
challenges, would also be incredibly helpful.
