Act 1: The Announcement
(Stage opens with Mary sitting at a table, deep in thought. Soft, angelic music plays.
Gabriel enters from the side, glowing and flapping pretend wings.)
Gabriel (gently):
Hail, Mary! Blessed are you among women!
Do not fear; I bring news from heaven.
You’ll have a son, His name is Jesus,
And through Him, God will redeem us.
Mary (standing nervously):
But how? I don’t understand,
This wasn’t at all in my plan!
Gabriel (smiling):
The Holy Spirit will come upon you,
God’s love will make this promise true.
Be joyful, Mary; you are part of His story,
A light to the world, a glimpse of His glory!
(Gabriel exits with a dramatic twirl. Mary looks reflective, then exits.)
Interlude 1: Poem Recitation
(Two performers step forward, dressed in formal or festive attire, reciting with clear
gestures.)
Performer 1:
A child is born, a King so small,
To bring salvation to us all.
From heaven above, He’ll shine so bright,
To pierce the darkness with His light.
In a manger, so lowly, the Savior lies,
A promise fulfilled beneath the skies.
Humble and pure, His love will grow,
To heal the broken, to lift the low.
Performer 2:
Oh Bethlehem, the chosen place,
Where God would show His holy face.
Rejoice, for love has come to stay,
In a humble stable, on this day.
The angels sing, the shepherds kneel,
A miracle the world can feel.
Let every heart prepare Him room,
For Christ has come to dispel all gloom.
(They bow and exit.)
Act 2: The Journey to Bethlehem
(Mary and Joseph walk in slowly with a donkey prop, looking exhausted. A backdrop of
Bethlehem's buildings is displayed. The Innkeeper stands near a small door labeled
"Full.")
Joseph (knocking):
Good evening, sir! Do you have space?
My wife’s about to give birth—this isn’t a race!
Innkeeper (shrugging):
Sorry, folks, no room at all,
It’s packed from here to the city wall.
But there’s a stable nearby, humble yet clean,
It’s not much, but it’s fit for a queen.
Mary (smiling):
Thank you, sir, for your kindness and care.
We’ll make do with whatever is there.
(They head toward the stable, as the lights dim and shift to a warm glow.)
Interlude 2: Rap Performance
(Three performers step forward in casual outfits, snapping fingers or beatboxing softly.)
Performer 1 (rapping, with swagger):
Yo, listen up, here’s a story to hear,
Of a Savior born to wipe every tear.
Mary and Joseph, they walked all night,
No room in the inn, but the star shone bright.
Through dusty streets and a stable they stayed,
In a manger of hay, the King was laid.
Not in a palace or a royal hall,
But a humble place, for the greatest call.
Performer 2 (joining in, nodding):
The angels sang, the shepherds ran,
To witness the Savior, God’s great plan.
Wise men traveled with gifts in hand,
Guided by a star over desert and sand.
Gold for a King, and myrrh for the grave,
Frankincense for the one who came to save.
So remember this story, let the praises rise,
Jesus is born, the light of our lives!
Performer 3 (energetically):
It’s a night to remember, a tale so true,
Of a love so deep, meant for me and you.
Clap your hands, let the world rejoice,
Lift up your hearts and raise your voice!
God came down, in human form,
To calm the storm and keep us warm.
So share this joy, this holy sight,
For Jesus is born, the eternal light!
(They strike a pose and exit.)
Act 3: The Birth of Jesus
(Mary and Joseph kneel by the manger. Shepherds enter, awestruck, holding simple staffs.)
Narrator:
In a stable so humble, under a star’s light,
The Savior was born on this holy night.
Shepherds came, their hearts full of joy,
To worship this King, a tiny boy.
Shepherd 1:
We heard the angels! What a glorious sight,
Telling us to come see this child tonight.
Shepherd 2:
He’s here! Just as the angels said,
A King in a manger, no crown on His head.
(The shepherds kneel before the manger, offering small gifts like bread or a lamb prop.)
Interlude 3: Poem Recitation
(Two new performers step forward, speaking reverently.)
Performer 1:
In a manger, love was born,
In the chill of the night, yet not forlorn.
A King so small, yet mighty in grace,
Bringing hope to the human race.
The shepherds came, the wise men too,
All to worship a promise so true.
The star above, so bright and clear,
Guiding the world to God so near.
Performer 2:
Let every voice and heart proclaim,
The joy of Christ, His holy name.
A Savior born to set us free,
To light the path for you and me.
So let the bells of heaven ring,
And every heart begin to sing.
For on this day, salvation’s call,

(They bow and exit.)
Act 4: The Visit of the Wise Men
(Three Wise Men enter from the side, wearing regal robes and carrying gifts. They follow a
large star prop on a stick, held high by a stagehand. The stable scene is illuminated by a
soft, golden light.)
Wise Man 1:
Behold, the star has led us true,
To the King of kings, both old and new.
Wise Man 2:
We bring these gifts, humble and rare,
To honor the child beyond compare.
Wise Man 3:
Gold for a King, myrrh for His pain,
Frankincense to signify His holy reign.
(The Wise Men kneel and place their gifts beside the manger. Mary smiles gently, while
Joseph stands protectively nearby.)
Narrator:
The Wise Men worshipped, the shepherds praised,
As the world beheld its Savior, amazed.
A holy child, born to bring peace,
To heal the broken and grant release.
(The lights dim slightly as the narrator steps forward for the final interlude.)
Interlude 4: Rap Performance
(Three performers step forward, snapping fingers to a soft beat. Their energy grows as
they rap.)
Performer 1 (confidently):
Yo, check the scene, a star up high,
Guiding the Wise Men through the night sky.
Gold for a King, myrrh for the grave,
Frankincense for the one who came to save.
He’s the Prince of Peace, the Lord of all,
Born in a manger, in a humble stall.
The angels sang, the heavens declared,
A Savior is born; the world is repaired.
Performer 2 (energetically):
The shepherds came, their hearts on fire,
To see the King, their one desire.
The Wise Men bowed, the gifts they brought,
For the Son of God, who cannot be bought.
Born to save, to heal, and to guide,
A love so pure, it turns the tide.
So let’s rejoice, let’s sing His name,
Jesus Christ, forever the same!
Performer 3 (passionately):
From Bethlehem streets to hearts worldwide,
The news of His birth will never subside.
He’s the Light, the Truth, the Way,
Born to lead us every day.
Clap your hands, lift up your voice,
Let all the nations now rejoice.
The King is here, the wait is done,
Glory to God for His only Son!
(They strike a powerful final pose and exit to applause.)
Act 5: The Warning and Return
(The Wise Men meet King Herod, who stands with a scheming expression. The scene is set
with a simple throne prop.)
King Herod:
Tell me, Wise Men, where is this child?
This so-called King with a birth so wild?
I wish to worship, just like you,
So tell me the place—I’ll visit too.
Wise Man 1 (aside, whispering):
His words are false, his heart untrue.
Wise Man 2:
Let us return another way,
To protect the child on this holy day.
(The Wise Men exit in haste. Herod scowls and storms offstage. The lights shift back to the
stable, where Joseph speaks to Mary.)
Joseph:
An angel came to me last night,
Telling us to flee by morning light.
Herod seeks to do our son harm,
We must protect Him and stay calm.
Mary (nodding):
Let us go where God will guide,
In Him, our Savior, we’ll abide.
(They gather their things and exit, holding baby Jesus protectively.)
Finale: The Celebration
(All characters re-enter, forming a semi-circle on stage. The narrator steps forward for the
closing lines.)
Narrator:
And so the story now is told,
Of a Savior born in days of old.
A King so pure, a love so bright,
Born to bring the world His light.
(All characters join hands as a spotlight shines on the manger, now empty to symbolize the
journey ahead. A group song or hymn can follow to close the play.)
