Ref: R161-6906-COCA-COLA-NOISE-FEB-2025 Date: 18/02/2025 3 NOISE MONITORING REPORT 1. Executive Summary: Global Trade & Technology W.L.L (GloTech) was hired by M/s. COCA-COLA ALMANA BOTTLING PLANT to carry out noise monitoring at the occupied factory, in New Industrial Area. The noise level location was selected by M/s. COCA-COLA ALMANA BOTTLING PLANT personnel and are consistent with the local specifications. Based on a prior visit conducted by GloTech, seven (07) monitoring spots were identified at the locations and therefore, one (01) monitoring device was deployed. The monitoring duration at each spot was 10 minutes TWA, and the monitoring was conducted on 10th February 2025. The criteria used by GloTech for sampling, analysis and making conclusion were based on the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MoECC) standards and are further described in the later part of this report. Based on the results of the Noise Level for M/s. COCA-COLA ALMANA BOTTLING PLANT, are within the safe levels. 2. Introduction: Noise is playing an ever-increasing role in our lives and seems a regrettable, but ultimately avoidable corollary of current technology. Noise pollution refers to sounds in the environment that are caused by humans and unwanted sound dumped into environment without regard to the adverse effect it may have. Noise pollution may be defined as any unwanted electromagnetic signal (sound) that produces a jarring or displeasing effect and which interferes with human communication, comfort and health. Noise pollution also caused when the loudness of the sound becomes irritating or unbearable. Noise pollution also refers to perturbations which interfere in the communication system. Industrial noise due to the different machines of numerous industries, factories and mills produce a lot of high intensity sounds causing noise pollution. Some industrial processes like weaning, ship building, boiler making, pressing and blasting operations are noisier than others. The operations in pneumatic drills, milling machines, cutters, printing press with an upward, downward and sideways movement and vibrations, cause lowering of hearing capacity to a large extent. Therefore, Noise monitoring plays a vital role nowadays. 3. Scope of Work: The scope of the study was to carry out Noise Monitoring within the plant premises as follows: Sr. Source Parameter No. 01. Scope of the Study: Testing methodology based on ISO 3744/46 and latest international standard IEC 61672-1. Noise monitoring activity was carried out for 10 minutes during the normal operation with Cirrus Optimus + Green & results are shown in Table 3, pg. no 8 below. Purpose & Objectives: This protocol presents the purpose for Noise monitoring to carry out on routine basis or to address the public complaints. The objective is to monitor the noise level at a particular site or as described in the complaints. The data generated by the method shall also evaluate with prescribed noise level standards. To determine how the sound pressure level generated from a source varies as one move away from it. To identify area at risk of NIHL (Noise Induce Hearing Loss). To evaluate effectiveness of existing noise control, based on the survey, the sources of the noise are controlled by surrounding that can reduce the noise level. 6. Health Effects from High Level of Noise: Noise pollution affects both health and behavior. Unwanted sound (noise) can damage psychological health. Noise pollution can cause hypertension, high stress levels, tinnitus, hearing loss, sleep disturbances, and other harmful effects. 7. Reference Locations: I. II. III. IV. V. VI. VII. Methodology: Noise Level was monitored with the help of portable digital sound level meter (Cirrus) Type 1. The instrument was mounted on tripod stand with a microphone 1.5 meter above ground level. The sound level meter was calibrated on field using an acoustic calibrator compliant with IEC 61672-1 Class 1. The following equivalent A-weighted sound pressure levels were recorded: (dB) Leq, Lmin, Lmax. MoECC Qatar Standards & Limits for Noise: The standards for noise control have been made to protect the population against the fatigue resulting for exposure to high levels of noise. These standards cover the limits for environmental noise and provide guidelines for the proper planning of land utilization. The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change standards for industrial noise levels says that the overall noise levels during day and night time at the boundary of the industry shall not exceed 75 dB (Leq) and 85 dB at a distance of 1 meter from the machinery area. Sound Level Monitoring Graph: Based on Table-3 The monitoring data collected are given in graph below. Note: The MoECC standards for industrial noise levels says that the overall noise levels during day & Night time at the boundary of the industry shall not exceed 75 dB (Leq) and 85 dB at a distance of 1 meter from the machinery area. So, by considering the industrial limit all locations are within the MOECC Standards, 14. Conclusion: The noise level of the factory is compared with the respective time limit of the noise level as per the Qatar MoECC standards. The measured average noise results are within the Qatar MoECC standards for M/s. COCA-COLA ALMANA BOTTLING PLANT.
