PART 1: Installing Google Authenticator on your smart devise
1. Download and install Google Authenticator on your smart devise.
2. After installing, open Google Authenticator
First Time Use
a. If first time using it, you will be prompted with a walkthrough. You can swipe left or right to read or
just click Get Started
b. On the Welcome screen, at the bottom part, you can either login using your google account or select
the option Use Google authenticator without an account.
c. On the next screen, you will be prompted so set up your first account, click Scan a QR code then scan
the QR code screenshot provided to you.
Note: See your email for the unique QR code
d. After scanning, you will be directed to the main screen with your account and authentication code.
Google Authenticator already installed
a. If Google Authenticator is already installed on your smart devise, open it and click the plus sign
(
) at the lower right bottom part and select Scan a QR code
b. Scan the provided QR code and your new account will be added
How Google Authenticator works
You will be needing the 6—digit unique code generated from Google Authenticator every time you log in on
OpenVPN together with the 4-digit pin. Keep in mind that the code changes when the validity timer expires.
You have to make sure you are using the 6—digit unique code that is indicated on your Google Authenticator screen
PART 2: Installing and configuring OpenVPN on your personal computer/laptop
1. On your personal computer/laptop, download OpenVPN Connect Client app through this link
a. For Windows PC: https://openvpn.net/client/client-connect-vpn-for-windows/
b. For MAC PC: https://openvpn.net/client-connect-vpn-for-mac-os/
2. Once downloaded, install the application.
Note: OpenVPN should be installed on your home or personal computer’s desktop and NOT on the remote desktop
For MAC PC, you might be prompted to choose the installation type based on you devise chipset, please
choose that is compatible with your devise specs.
3. Open the application, click Agree and click Upload File. Browse the location where you save the config file
Note: See your email for the config file. Fiel Name: hub-UDP4-1194-config_1_(1).ovp
4. Once the config file is uploaded, you will see the screen below. Change the Profile Name to the name of your
practice. Type in the Username provided on the email sent to you, please note that this is case sensitive.
Once everything is set, click Connect
5. You will prompted to Enter password.
Password is the 4 digit pin provided on the email + 6 digit code from Google authenticator
Example: Your pin is 2468 and the 6-digit code from Google authenticator is 643197, you should enter these
number, 2468643197 as the password
6. You will see the screen below once you successfully connect to OpenVPN
7. To disconnect, toggle the switch button going to the left. This will prompt you to confirm to disconnect, click
Confirm to fully disconnect on OpenVPN
