DIVISION TRAINING WORKSHOP ON THE ORGANIZATION OF MUSIC ENSEMBLE
On October 7-10, 2024, I had the priviledge of attending the Division Training Workshop On
The Organization Of Music Ensemble held at Asturias Hotel, Barangay Tiniguiban, Puerto
Princesa City. This event brought together talented speakers and selected MAPEH teachers
who have background in organizing music ensemble/group from both elementary and secondary
schools to share valuable inputs and knowledge.
The seminar focused on playing musical instruments that are available in school and
affordable for the students, such as flute recorder, melodion, bandurria, xylophone, and
indigenous musical instrument of Palawan.
Key Takeaways
1. I gained a deeper understanding of the concept of music and how it is recorded track by
track before mixing it as demonstrated by Dr. Paterno Marquez.
2. The discussion on Drum and Lyre highlighted the importance formation and cadence
during an exhibition and the application of the elements of music.
3. The presentation of the different instruments that are affordable by the students made me
realize that it is important to consider what our target members could afford especially
when the school has no capacity to support and provide the needed instruments.
Notable moments
1. Impressive presentation of musical composition using available materials and
instruments (indigenous) left an inspiration to us as an aspiring musician.
2. I connected with fellow participants from different schools fostering collaboration.
3. Engaging workshops and recital segment allowed for meaningful interactions with co
participants and speakers.
Attending the above seminar was very helpful to us Music teachers. The knowledge gained
and collaborations made will undoubtedly enhance my basic skills and idea of organizing musical
group for children. I appreciate SDO Palawan for organizing this enriching event.
