As the great astronomer Carl Sagan once said, “It is the tension between creativity and skepticism
that has produced the stunning and unexpected findings of science”. This tension has brought forth
countless technological advancements. Although many people argue technology intrudes in our
day-to-day lives too much, I say that the world has developed so fast because of how prevalent
technology is; whether it is through our phones–granting us quick communication–or through the use of
AI, technology has made our lives easier. How else can we truly develop the world to become a better
place without this technological innovation?
While I do agree that technology can be too intrusive at times; such as people feeling the constant
need to check social media which has led to many people developing social anxiety and other mental
health issues, I think that can all be managed through setting better standards as a society. I am a firm
believer that technology should not be limited just due to societal issues.
Another example many people think of when talking about intrusive technology is artificial
intelligence (AI). I think AI is simply being marketed in the wrong way in terms of academics to people
as it should be used as a tool to help you improve your work. AI is quite literally the future of business
and should be taught in a way which lets you use it as a tool, but also gives respect to originality.
Technology can be implemented more in our lives everywhere. Schools can implement better
software to teach students who don’t understand or are super advanced within a topic as education is not a
straight lined process for many. Nuclear fission reactors can be implemented throughout the world
presenting an energy source that is high producing and clean. With that more research within nuclear
science will be the gateway to even further advancements. Many businesses have already begun
implementing AI but further use can speed up tedious or unsafe tasks. “92% of companies plan to invest

In conclusion, technology can be intrusive in a lot of cases, but this should not limit the
advancement of the human race. Technology is simply meant to be a tool to be used for practical
purposes. By integrating better societal norms we are able to mitigate the negatives of technology instead
of casting it aside. There is no way to perfectly balance the use of technology, but not trying is a true
crime. As Charles Darwin said “It is not the strongest of the species that survive, nor the most intelligent,
but the one most responsive to change” highlighting how humans who aren’t the strongest species
survived. Not through pure fighting, but innovating which an increased use of technology will help create
another generation of great minds if done right.
