KGP POULTRY FARM COMPREHENSIVE DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES OF ALL FARM EMPLOYEES
Daily Tasks:
1. Feeder and Drinker Maintenance:

Inspect feeders and drinkers daily to ensure proper operation and cleanliness.
o
Adjust feeder heights as birds grow to ensure easy access and minimize waste.
2. Mortality Check and Disposal:
o
Remove and record dead birds to monitor mortality rates and prevent disease
spread.
o
Dispose of carcasses according to biosecurity and environmental standards.
3. Water System Monitoring:
o
Check water lines for blockages, leaks, or airlocks.
o
Ensure water pressure is consistent and within recommended levels.
4. Litter and Bedding Inspection:
o
Spot-clean wet or caked litter daily to maintain a dry and healthy environment.
o
Replace contaminated bedding in localized areas.
5. Behavioral Observation:
o
Watch for unusual behaviors, such as huddling, lethargy, or aggression that might
indicate health or environmental issues.
6. Feed Management:
o
Verify feed levels in storage bins and ensure proper flow into feeders.
o
Check feed quality and report any signs of spoilage or contamination.
7. Biosecurity Practices:
o
Use footbaths, hand sanitizers, and protective clothing before entering poultry
houses.
o
Limit entry to essential personnel and strictly enforce biosecurity measures.
8. Environmental Monitoring:
o
Regularly check ammonia levels, humidity, and temperature using gauges or
sensors.
o
Adjust ventilation or heating systems promptly to maintain optimal conditions.
9. Minor Repairs:

bulbs, or clearing minor clogs in drinkers.
10. Communication:

Periodic Tasks (Before and After Harvest):
1. Ventilation Deep Cleaning:
o
Wash and remove dust buildup from fans, vents, and air ducts to maintain
efficiency and air quality.
2. Feed System Calibration:
o
Periodically test and calibrate feeders to ensure they are dispensing the correct
amount of feed.
3. Health Checks and Diagnostics:
o
Perform thorough inspections of the flock for external parasites, deformities, or
other health issues.
o
Assist in taking samples of blood or feces for laboratory testing.
4. Broiler Performance Analysis:
o
Review growth and feed conversion ratios against industry benchmarks.
o

5. Rodent and Pest Management:

Set traps or apply pest control measures around the building perimeter.

Other Responsibilities:

weight, and mortality rates.

Submit regular reports to supervisors or managers for performance evaluation.

Assist with hosting visitors or inspectors, explaining farm operations and best
practices as needed.

Participate in community programs to promote sustainable farming practices.
3. Emergency Response:
o
Be on-call for emergencies like power outages, equipment failures, or disease
outbreaks.
o
Execute emergency protocols quickly to protect birds and minimize losses.
4. Compliance with Regulations:

Stay informed about local, national, and international poultry farming regulations.
o
Ensure the farm meets standards for animal welfare, environmental protection,
and food safety.
5. Innovation and Improvement:
o
Experiment with new feeding techniques, environmental adjustments, or
equipment to improve farm efficiency.

Provide feedback to management about potential improvements in operations.
6. Sustainability Initiatives:

7. Flock Harvest and Processing Support:
o
Prepare birds for transport by following proper catching and handling techniques.

Clean and sanitize the poultry house after bird removal.
