ACCESSING AND WORKING WITH YOUR VIRTUAL MACHINE

ACCESSING VSPHERE
NOTE: DO NOT USE Firefox or Edge. They are known to send multiple key entries to VMs for every keypress on the user’s
physical keyboard. When working with your VM, you should use Chrome, which does not send multiple keys to the VM.
1. Using Google Chrome (see note above), browse to https://infoadc.mccinfo.net/
2. Click the Launch VSHPHERE Client (HTML5) link (Figure 1).
3. Log on to the VMWare vSphere Web Client
a. In the User name field enter your MCC student email address, which is in the format
username@mail.mccneb.edu
i.
NOTE: MCC staff will have an email address is the format username@mccneb.edu
b. In the Password field, enter your MCC network password.
c. Click Login.

4. On successful login, you will be taken to the vSphere Web Client home screen.
5. To access your virtual machine, click the VMs and Templates button as shown in the image below.a.Alternatively,
you can pull down the Menu and click VMs and Templates.
6. In the Navigation pane on the left-hand side, expandINFOADC.mccinfo.net > INFOADC_Datacenter > INFO2805.
Then expand your class section. (i.e. INFO 2806 7A, 5A, WW).

7. Once the VMs and Templates screen loads, scroll down until you see the class you are in. Expand that folder and
locate your VM folder identified with your last name and is assigned by your instructor.
8. Expand your VM folder to access the VMs for the class. You can Right-click on the VM to open the Actions
Context Menu or you can Click on the ActionsMenu located above the Tabs at the top of the frame.
9. Find the folder with your name (i.e. 2808_BBA_jdoe). If you don’t see a folder with your name email your
instructor.
10. Click on the small arrow to the left of your folder to expand it and see the contents. You should have 3 virtual
machines, OpenSuse, Parrott and Win10Pro. Opensuse is a Linux computer system. Parrott is also a Linux
computer designed with several hacking tools installed. Win10Pro is a Windows 10 Desktop.

11. Your virtual machine (VM) may or may not be running. If your machine has a green arrow it is running. If it does
not then it has been shut down.
12. To start your VM, right-click on the VM, select Power, then Power On.

13. To access your VM, Click on your VM, Select Summary in the menu to the right and click on “Launch Web
Console”. Then click “OK” when the dialog box opens. A new tab should open with your VM. May sure you have
all pop blockers turned off.

14. To log into OpenSuse and Parrot computers use the username is student and the password: Password1 (captial
P and a number one at the end).
15. To log into the Win10Pro VM, the username is admin and use the password - Password1 (captial P and a number
one at the end).
