Write sentences with appropriate adverbs

Our lesson yesterday is Adjectives.
So, what is adjectives?
It is Adjectives.
Adjectives modify or describe nouns and
pronouns. They can be attributive
(occurring before the noun) a predicative
(occurring after the noun). Predicative
adjectives typically follow a linking verb
(such as forms of the verbs “to be”) that
connects the subject of the sentence to
the adjectives.

Adjectives - is a word that describes or
modifies a noun or pronoun. It adds more
specificity to the noun or pronoun it accompanies.
Adjectives can convey various qualities, such as
size, color, emotion, or uniqueness.
Adverb is a word that describes/modify or add
more meaning to a verb, adjective, or other
adverb.
2. ANALYSIS
Adverbs Describes- adverbs can also describe
adjectives and often answer the question “to what
extent”.
So today, we are going to discuss about adverbs
and its types.
What is adverb?
1. Adverb is a word that describes/modify or add
more meaning to a verb, adjective, or other
adverb.
like for example:
1. She move very quickly.
2. The lady here wants to talk with you
3. Tom walks slowly.
(What is the verb in the sentence? What is your
adverb? What are your adverbs modifying?)

Adverb of Manner- How was the action done?

Exercise 1: Underline the adverb in each sentence.
Then identify the type of adverb uses in each
sentence. Write your answer in a 1 sheet of paper.

2. Adverbs Describes- adverbs can also describe
adjectives and often answer the question “to what
extent”. We do this when we want to express the
degree of intensity of adjectives. These adverbs
are called adverbs of intensity. They are usually
placed before the adjectives.
Ex. The water is extremely hot.
Adverb adjective
The word “extremely” describes the word “hot”
which is an adjective. In this sentence, “extremely”
is used to express the degree of intensity of the
hotness of the water.
Ex. the movie is quite interesting.
(The word “quite” is used to describe the word
“interesting” which an adjective.)









Exercise 2: Encircle the adverb and underline the
adjective in each sentences below. Then draw and
arrow from the adverb to the adjectives it
modifies.

3. Adverbs of describe another- if an adverb is (the pupils will answer the exercise 2)
answering the question “to what extent”, they are
usually describing adjectives and adverbs.
Therefore, an adverb that describes another
adverb is also called adverb of intensity.
Ex. We work very quickly to finish all our
requirements. Adverb adverb
(The adverb “very” answers the question “to what
extent” or the degree of quickness they put into
finish work. The adverb “very” intensifies another
adverb which is “quickly”.
