Preparatory Greetings Prayer Good morning, Class. Good morning too, teacher. Okay class, before we start our lesson, let us pray first. Please rise and lead the prayer. Predicative adjectives typically follow a linking verb (such as forms of the verbs “to be”) that connects the subject of the sentence to the adjectives. c. Very good. Our lesson for today is about adverbs. d. Unlocking Adjectives - is a word that describes or modifies a noun or pronoun. It adds more specificity to the noun or pronoun it accompanies. Adjectives can convey various qualities, such as size, color, emotion, or uniqueness. Adverb is a word that describes/modify or add more meaning to a verb, adjective, or other adverb. 2. ANALYSIS Adverbs Describes- adverbs can also describe adjectives and often answer the question “to what extent”. So today, we are going to discuss about adverbs and its types. What is adverb? 1. Adverb is a word that describes/modify or add more meaning to a verb, adjective, or other adverb. like for example: 1. She move very quickly. 2. The lady here wants to talk with you 3. Tom walks slowly. (What is the verb in the sentence? What is your adverb? What are your adverbs modifying?) Types of Adverbs Adverb of Manner- How was the action done? Adverbs Describes- adverbs can also describe adjectives and often answer the question “to what extent”. We do this when we want to express the degree of intensity of adjectives. These adverbs are called adverbs of intensity. They are usually placed before the adjectives. Ex. The water is extremely hot. Adverb adjective The word “extremely” describes the word “hot” which is an adjective. In this sentence, “extremely” is used to express the degree of intensity of the hotness of the water. Ex. the movie is quite interesting. (The word “quite” is used to describe the word “interesting” which an adjective.)
