The learners demonstrate understanding of Disaster Risk Reduction:

The learners are able to develop a community emergency preparedness plan
and community disaster preparedness and community preparedness plan to
minimize vulnerability and disaster risk in the community to avoid or limit
adverse impacts of hazards.
Discuss the key concepts, principles and elements of DRR
(DRR11/12-IIg-h-42)
1.1 Understand the key concepts, principles and elements of DRR.
1.2 Reflect on the importance of disaster preparedness to avoid and limit the
adverse effects of the hazards.
1.3 To develop a community emergency preparedness plan and community disaster
preparedness and community preparedness plan.
Concept of Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Risk Reduction and
Management (DRRM)

Let the students answer the following questions:
1. What are the different hazards causes of fire incident?
2. What are the precautionary measures and proper procedures in addressing
a fire incident?
Picture Analysis:
The teacher will show the logo of different government agencies involves in
disaster risk reduction management.

1. Identify primary functions of those government agencies?
2. Give an example service given of those agencies?
Via PowerPoint presentation, post a picture of different human activities.
Group the class into 3 and ask them to identify the different human

Group the class into 3. With regards to the knowledge of the result of the
pre-activity, using concept mapping identified government agencies
responsible for the preparedness, response, prevention and mitigation,
rehabilitation and recovery and give their services during disaster.
